People of the Government, by the Government, for the Government?
Certain truths are undeniable. The sun will rise in the east and set in the west. If you plant a peach seed, you will get a peach tree and not an apple tree. Telemarketers will always call you, despite being on the national do not call list, as you are trying to sit down and eat dinner with your family. And, of course, liberals just don't get America.
At the Democratic Party's nominating convention in Charlotte this last week, liberals proved that last truth once more by boldly stating, "government is the only thing we all belong to."[1] I dunno about that however. I belong to myself. My wife belongs to herself. You belong to yourself. In short, we all belong to ourselves. So, right there this statement is patently false.
The statement is, of course, yet another window into the liberal soul. Or rather, it would be if liberals had souls. I am firmly convinced they don't. Yeah, you heard me right/ I said liberals don't have souls. Now go faint on the couch because I hurt your frail, can't we all just get along, sensibilities.
Soul is defined [2] in many ways. Let's look at them and I'll show you why each doesn't apply to a liberal minded person.
"1: the immaterial essence, animating principle, or actuating cause of an individual life"
Heck you can't even get liberals to admit what life is. They think that a child in the womb is just a lump of cells that can be treated as garbage until it miraculously becomes a person the second it exits the womb. Then it get's treated as a slave for the betterment of liberal ideology. Ok, I lied. Many of them don't even think that! Case and point? I present Exhibit A: President Obama who voted several times as a state legislator to allow doctors to kill a baby born alive if it was born alive due to a botched abortion attempt.
"2 a : the spiritual principle embodied in human beings, all rational and spiritual beings, or the universe b capitalized Christian Science : god 1b "
Did you hear the number of Democrats that voted against and then booed from the convention floor this past week when "God" was inserted back into the Democrat Party's platform?[3] Yeah, you heard me. It was put back in. Question: how many of you even knew it had been taken out?
"3 : a person's total self "
Liberals don't believe a person has a self. See statement about belonging to the government, i.e. the collective.
"4 a : an active or essential part b : a moving spirit : leader"
Liberals have no essential part to their being. They are constantly changing their opinions as their mood requires. One day they are for something, the next day they are against it.
"5 a : the moral and emotional nature of human beings b : the quality that arouses emotion and sentiment c : spiritual or moral force : fervor "
Morals? This from the ideology of the ends justifies the means and people who try to redefine the definition of "is"? Seriously?
"6 : person 7 : personification "
Again, liberals don't agree on what a "person" is. Liberals have, over the course of their ideological existence, believed that unborn babies, Jews, blacks, and countless other "people" are not really "people".
"8 a : a strong positive feeling (as of intense sensitivity and emotional fervor) conveyed especially by black American performers"
Positive feelings? When was the last time you saw a liberal happy about anything? They are always rioting in the street and grumbling about how unfair life has been. The only time they even feign happiness is when they are able to destroy someone else that is more successful than them or confiscate their wealth for their own devices. To wit, the closest they ever came to actually experiencing happiness was when Barack Obama was elected President. But, even still, they did not quite reach such a state.
I rest my case on the statement that liberals don't have souls. So, really, the statement, "government is the only thing we all belong to," is a window into the black pit of nothingness at the center of all liberals.
America was not formed with any sort of concept remotely in the minds of the founders. The idea of people belonging to the government was not even fathomable to them. The government belongs to the people, not the other way around. Our Constitution, for example, is a set of enumerated powers granted to the government by the people. The people voted and ratified it, not the government. This being the case, it is impossible to say that the later is greater than the former since the former empowers the later.
Want to know what the founding fathers really thought about government? Want to know their thoughts in raw, blunt terms? Listen to what Noah Webster said on the subject:
"The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive." - Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787) Emphasis mine [4]
Doesn't sound like the people are owned by government to me. Does it sound that way to you? If it does, you're probably a liberal, and you have now wasted your time reading this and learned nothing.
For everyone else however, please realize that liberals really do think we all belong to the government. And they will never, ever rest until government of the people, by the people, for the people is replaced with people of the government, by the government, for the government.
