Lay-Away programs are the Next Credit Crisis? Get Real Senator Schumer This Administration and Congress is the Next Credit Crisis!
At this very moment, Senator Schumer and others seem to be playing the “Grinch” by attacking the retailer’s from reemploying a consumer friendly “Lay-Away” program. The dear Senator evidently is worried that consumers are unfairly being taken advantage of by retailers this Christmas season; how so Uncle Charlie?
Senator Charles Schumer (D), from New York, like many others sitting in Congress are continuing their efforts to control our daily lives. Now Senator Schumer through Congress is attempting to steal Christmas and wants to dictate to us, the American Consumer, how to shop; how “Orwellian!”
At this very moment, Senator Schumer and others seem to be playing the “Grinch” attacking the retailer’s from reemploying a consumer friendly “Lay-Away” program. The dear Senator evidently is worried that consumers are unfairly being taken advantage of by retailers this Christmas season; how so Uncle Charlie?
Why use a credit card, when consumers can throw a whole pile of Christmas gifts into a shopping cart and use their favorite retailers “Lay-Away” program for only a $5 dollar service fee and make weekly interest free payments; check out Wal-Mart or Kmart or even Sears for instance. Retailers are happy, the consumer is happy, everyone is happy, except the credit card companies; and now apparently Uncle Charlie “the Grinch” is very unhappy.
Good old Charlie, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, is now using his leverage by threatening to use the Federal Trade Commission to determine whether the use of the “Lay-Away” program is a deceptive or misleading business practice.
Okay “Mr. Grinch,” is that really going to be a fair and unbiased investigation? And who controls the Federal Trade Commission? Yes, the Federal Government does and the FTC happens to be directed by a lifelong Democrat who was appointed by President Obama; and we all know how many of the major banks contributed to Obama’s campaign now don’t we!
It’s got to be that fuzzy math these politicians like Schumer continue to use.
The problem is these banks are not collecting their average 20 percent on interest revenues from the lost transactions during this Christmas season.
What the real underlying issue is, are Schumer’s campaign donors. The financial industries are losing money, because we, the American people, unlike Congress have concerns with accumulating debt.
So here’s the ironic hypocrisy of Senator Charles Schumer, lets follow the money. According to Open Secrets.org, Securities and Investment firms have contributed over $2.7 million dollars, Credit Suisse Group nearly $70,000 dollars, Commercial Banks $185,800 dollars, Lobbyists representing many from the Banking industry have contributed over $560,000 dollars all to Schumer’s Senatorial campaigns.
So, it’s no small wonder he’s against the consumers using the old fashioned, overall cost saving, “Lay-Away” programs! Do you think the Banking lobbyists are putting a little pressure on good old Uncle Charlie?
Senator Charles Schumer is one of 535 reasons why we are experiencing this current economic crisis. So why would we take advice from good old Uncle Charlie? Isn’t he one of the reasons why we have nearly $15 Trillion in National debt?
What does it take to awaken American’s across this great Country of ours of the continued tyrannies being imposed on us by these elected tyrants; who everyday chisel away at our Constitutional rights! Why do they constantly get re-elected? Wake up America!
It’s time to take America back folks in 2012; regrettably Senator Charles Schumer is locked in until 2016.
Unfortunately for Schumer, most American Consumers are informed shoppers; and we vote.
