In Support of Rod Blagojevich
"Everybody lies." - House, MD

I never thought I would say anything at all in support of Rod Blagojevich, former governor of Illinois, but in his recent comments to the press I have found a reason for such support.

In recent statements Blagojevich has demanded that certain evidence be made public to expose the underhanded (criminal?) workings of warped minds like Rahm Emanuel. And while I still believe Blagojevich is, um, ethically challenged I have no doubt whatsoever that he was met more than half way by the ilk of the Obama administration: probably the most corrupt presidential administration since the Clintons.

Now, apparently, Blagojevich is going to be retried after a hung jury in his last trial. I hope, if he goes down, he takes everyone with him. That would be a noble act. If he does that, the trail of deception will undoubtedly head straight to the White House. And the timing is perfect, as Obama’s thug administration is falling apart from incompetence and general ennui. Many of the most massive trees on Earth rot from within.

One basic cliché is always true…always. What comes around goes around. I hope Blagojevich does whatever it takes to bring down those who took it upon themselves to subvert the system and the laws that glue the political cauldron together.

There is no such thing as honor among thieves. Once the Mob dissipated in many major cities, chaos ensued to only be taken over by the logical heirs apparent: politicians. But, then, organized crime and politicians have always been in bed together. Looking at the Kennedys will prove that unequivocally. Now, it seems, some people have had enough of being thrown under the bus. And we all need to remember that anyone with no sense of right or wrong; no sense of the importance of consequences; no sense of common decency, is at best a nihilist or, at worst, a sociopath.

So, for once, I am interested in the fate of Rod Blagojevich. Because it has no good ending. But if he can manage to expose what seems to be a large pattern of corruption, I would have no problem hailing that as an honorable act.

For now, it’s ripples in a pond.

Soon, perhaps, a snowball will be rolled down the hill.
