So many people are treading water in place, looking for leaders to bring it all about. It is as if everyone believes something good will happen in the eleventh hour . . . A quick study of these three types can help many Americans understand why they are treading water.
Motivating American citizens, who are not sure how to go about steering the Republic back in a conservative direction, is a difficult task at best. So many people are treading water in place, looking for leaders to bring it all about. It is as if everyone believes something good will happen in the eleventh hour. Most Americans are not naturally built for this task, but absolutely have the capability and a desire to learn. America needs to steer back into a conservative direction, but not necessarily backward in time. It is a new century, and what is needed is a new conservative horizon and a renewal of those absolute and honorable American values for today’s Republic. After pondering this problem, information I learned years ago crept into the active fore-front of my 58 year old memory banks.
I sought some wisdom about thirty years ago when I realized that everyone in America did not wake up each morning and view their world in the same way that I did. I had a teacher who endeavored to teach me the view of how most Americans woke up to begin their day. She explained that there are four major personality types, but number one and two – based on similarities and a the large quantity of people involved had melded together in the late fifties and sixties.
My teacher taught that the three personality types remaining were distributed in America in this way 30 years ago: about 65 percent of people were the “Action” type; about 30 percent of people were the “Dependable” type; and about 5 percent of people were the “Searcher” type. I believe the pendulum has reached its furthest point in its arc right now and the number of citizens in the largest group is even larger than it was 30 years ago. The pendulum will slowly begin to move back in its wide arc in the other direction. Understanding these three American personality types provides valuable information for all Americans interested in healing our land. I am in the 5% “Searcher” category. My teacher explained to me that over two hundred years ago when our nation was formed, the vast majority of people were this “Searcher” type, and I would have been a very happy camper indeed, if I had been born at the birth of our Republic. A quick study of these three types can help many Americans understand why they are treading water. Americans must understand that it is from individual change that we will bring about the desired change in the Republic.
All people have traits from all three types, but one will be dominant. It is important to understand that each of you will most likely have some traits from all three types. It usually takes more than two hundred years for the pendulum to swing full arc, and then the personality type’s flip-flop as far as quantity of people in each type.
Most Americans are the “Action” personality type with these primary traits:
Leaps before looking; not concerned with consequences at the time of action (consequences for self or for society)
Craves new tools, and uses them as an extension of self
Requires action by compulsion
Impulsive; compelled to action without learning first; compelled by feelings to action
Tests limits; work under crisis; bounces back easily
Goals not too binding (fluid)
Excitement, adventure, cheerful, fun loving, charming, witty, good conversationalist
Team player; protective of team members
Quick to be known, but never really known
Cares about the activity, not the end product; needs praise for participating and not the performance
Not compatible with true advanced education
Able to sever social ties easily
Wow! What exciting people this describes. It is no wonder that the product Americans are mostly involved in is that of a service oriented and entertainment oriented society. Over the last many decades the Republic has lost so much industry to the rest of the world. In 2008, only 12% of vehicles were built in the United Stated of America. Other industries that have exited the Republic are agriculture, clothing, computers, household items, steel, concrete, appliances, and furniture. This is not an exhaustive list, but demonstrates what is missing in our lives. We are missing the endeavor that individuals get from producing the grain that feeds the world, or the steel that builds the buildings of the world, or the vehicles the world prefers to purchase.
The smallest number of American personalities are the following two types:
Dependable:
Bound and obligated
Excellent work ethic; foundation; cement; cornerstone
Responsible; standards; social norms; institutions
Steadfast, dependable, pillar; does the right thing
Social structure; hierarchy; rules; status
Giver and caretaker
Useful to the social unit
Continuity of social units: family, church, service club, corporation, tradition, history, guardian, elders, duty, service, responsibility, work
Self-realization – integrity, no façade, genuine, authentic, dramatically different, heightened sense of meaning
Sensitive to the subtle
Enthusiastic anticipation; sees good in others; communicates, persuades, power; empathy; authentic; meaningful, passionate, romanticize and idealize . . . sees what might be
There are no bad personality types, but these people described in the two groups above are working under vastly different M.O.’s. Unless we can convince enough people who lean most in the direction of the Action personality type to desire a change in order to become more like the second groups, the desired change in our Republic that 70%+ of Americans are hoping for will probably not happen. I can tell you from personal experience that each of us can change if we make a decision to do it.
You might rightfully ask me why I would want you to see change for yourself as a viable solution. That is more than fair. Let us look at what the loss of the second grouping has cost the Republic:
Breakdown of quality of American products, giving the owner that last reason to move operations out of the country
Loss of American industry
Loss of American agriculture
Change from Constitutional Law to the ever elusive and changing case law which does not give equal justice to all
Loss of family structure
Church has changed from a Bible based Christianity to a feel good Christianity which has led to an exodus from the churches
Progressive Income Tax – which makes sure that all men in America are no longer equal
Weakened Educational system which has the mentality that throwing more money at sub-standard educational standards will solve the problem
Children exposed to immorality at every turn in their day
Children who are undisciplined and desensitized
Culture of entitlement instead of a Culture of values, ethics, and earning one’s way in life
Instead of getting fundamental basic rights from God, a culture of getting ever changing rights at the whims of the changing circle of men they perceive to get them from
Healthy completion is frowned upon; instead everyone is deluded into thinking they don’t have to do anything special for awards such as a Nobel Prize, or a trophy in a grade school relay race
Congress, Judges, and Administration believing they can change the rules, and change the facts of history to the whims of whatever group of thugs happen to be in charge
After white and black, side by side making great progress in obliterating slavery, people are looking to this government to enslave everyone without a fight
Any nation must not allow any group within its borders to practice laws which contradict our inalienable rights. Such is occurring with the Muslim religion; which is also a political system which not only contradicts American law, but seeks to progressively suppress the rights of women
I am sure tomorrow, I will think of thirty items to add to that list, but what is listed is enough to bring reasonable men to serious thoughts of personal change. When you look at the traits of the second group of personality types, can you imagine a nation full of people with these traits allowing the disintegration of the Republic? No, that would be impossible. These were the people who created and built this Republic. These people were the leaders of industry who created enough jobs for an entire nation. These people in vast numbers would necessarily shrink the federal government and the spending which will make slaves of us all. These people are about the business building honorable families, in God’s grace, giving the Republic a strong foundation.
An America full of strong people would necessarily understand that our Judeo-Christian faith, strong values, and endeavor are what made America the greatest nation on the planet. Those who want to destroy us have encouraged and rewarded laziness; have encouraged criminals and those of an entitlement mentality to invade our country; have encouraged the rights of the bully to be as important as the rights of the bully’s victim, have ridiculed our faith in God to make it something to be ashamed of; have encouraged man to believe the degrading idea that they are descended from pond scum; and they are pushing us to distribute what is left of our wealth to the rest of the world. This will do nothing to improve us or the world. Only an America who reclaims her endeavor, her faith, and her unique American citizenship will survive to make America whole again, and to be the light unto the world to emulate. Until recent decades, we were a melting pot of like-minded people who came here and melted into our pot of American society.
Either you are already more like the second group personality types and feel alone, or you are like the first personality type and are treading water. Yes, it is time to ask – Why Not Me? – decide to change in order to become, once again, a part of the great American experiment, and to help those you hold dear to change with you. It is time to push the personality pendulum into fast forward to overcome trends with willful faith and intelligence. Read the United States Constitution and Preamble with a new attitude. Read the Holy Bible with a new heart. Ask God to heal our Republic, and to heal those you know and love. It is going to take a miracle to turn this Republic back on a forward conservative momentum. It will take strength to weather the difficult recovery days ahead of us as we endeavor to build again. We must break away from those traits which decay us. We must divert our energy into individual endeavor much like that of our forefathers, and the industrial giants of our golden years. We must seek the truth and turn away from decades of lies.
Ask God to work that miracle through you. I ask God on my knees to do that every day. I am a medically disabled person who thought there was nothing left God wanted me to do. I have been running away from the best use of this keyboard for years. Then God takes hold of me and tells me to type, and I am not sure how the words come to me, but they do. He tells me to type and let Him take care of who reads. I am humbly praying that I am getting it right. I am humbly praying that you can divine from these commentaries a spark in you to find the truth, and to foster the change you keep praying someone else will give you. You are the catalyst. You are the future. Look in the mirror and decide what it is you will see.

Juanita has forty five years experience as an Accountant. During her last twenty eight years she specialized in the start up phase and / or the recovery phase of businesses from two million in revenue per year, to fifteen million per year. Her sphere of successful influence ranges from accounting, to operations, to the backroom marketing effort. Streamlining and organizing out of control businesses is serious fun for her.
The art of raising a family while working was of supreme importance to her; and she chose a route of self-education coupled with some college.
