In Harm's Way

In light of the July 4th holiday – a holiday that has become more meaningful to me in the past 10 years - there is a phrase that’s been haunting the past decade that has come to make me throw up a little. That phrase is in harm’s way. This is usually used by mindless liberal politicians when they pretend they care about our combat troops. They don’t want to put our troops in harm’s way.

Well, what in the screaming hell do you think they are there for?!

This patronizing phrase doesn’t just piss me off, but it pisses off the brave Marines and soldiers fighting for us even more. I have had the pleasure of talking to many Marines, soldiers and other military folks in the past 8 years and they have all told me one, unequivocal thing: they ARE harm’s way.

Ask a Marine how he feels about being infantilized by the imbecility of the likes of Chuck Schumer or other blatantly stupid people who pretend to care about our troops. They use our military as a chess piece to criticize the opponents of the administration, or those who supported the previous administration. This angers me beyond words. Especially now that these utter hypocrites are about to embrace General Petraeus, while having slandered this man only a couple years ago for political gain. If only we dealt with traitors like we used to.

In the early 2000’s I was the sole bouncer in a very large dance club. Just before the Iraq war, some of the military people who were about to ship out would come into the club. They would show me military ID, and I would buy them their drinks all night long. Now this bar was open until 4AM, so my minimal pay dwindled….gladly. Because I could not do what they do. There‘s not much I can’t or won’t do, but that’s one for which I consider myself a coward. That and I’m too old.

So, whether it’s the vacuous propaganda by a mindless lawyer like Chuck Schumer or the libelous, traitorous venom of John Murtha, the phrase,in harm’s way. needs to go away. This pathetic fawning by insincere morons is just degrading. These honorable people who are our Marines, soldiers, Airmen, Navy men and Reserves ARE harm’s way.

I strongly suggest those in opposition get out of the way.
