I feel your pain, Rosie, Ellen and Melissa

On November 4th California upheld traditional marriage by passing Proposition 8 by a half million votes, thus amending the state’s constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman. The homosexual community is not taking this lying down. Before the week was out bitter gay-rights activists challenged the will of the people with litigation.

OneNewsNow reports that:

“The homosexual movement for special rights has become louder, and in some cases violent, in the aftermath of losses at the ballot box in Florida, Arizona, and California. Florida Family Association notes the increased intensity in rhetoric from the self-proclaimed ‘champions of tolerance’ and diversity.” [1]

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican (Rino), has called upon his state’s Supreme Court to block the amendment's enforcement. As the state’s highest official, this sort of behavior is rather stunning. Is this the same person who, when running for office, told the public that he opposed same-sex marriage? When the California State Assembly approved a bill to legalize same-sex marriage, Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed it!

Suddenly Arnold’s had a change of heart. After Prop 8 passed he threw his mussel behind the homosexual movement and urged them to “never give up.” He now says he believes this issue is akin to interracial marriage. Is he confused, or what? One thing’s for sure. The man is a total hypocrite!

For those who are confused about the traditional meaning of marriage, Chuck Colson explains:

“In his book The Clash of Orthodoxies, Princeton philosopher Robert George writes that matrimonial law reflects a moral judgment—that marriage is inherently heterosexual, monogamous, and permanent—a union of one man and one woman.

“This view reflects the biblical and natural law understanding that marriage is a two-in-one-flesh communion of persons. This communion is consummated by sexual acts that are reproductive in nature. They unite the spouses as a single procreative unit—an organic unity achieved even by infertile couples. Only a mated pair can be a complete organism capable of human procreation.” [2]

It should surprise no one that after the election the blatantly biased networks quickly offered spots to Prop 8 opponents to proclaim their view that marriage is a "fundamental right." Those who argued for heterosexual marriage were scarce. According to Colleen Raezler of the Cultural and Media Institute:

“No network stories discussed the moral and societal implications of changing the definition of marriage, nor did the networks allow any supporters to provide a detailed defense of Proposition 8.” [3]

Liberal Hollywood elites have also gotten into the act. In a recent article, “Hollywood joins the furor over gay marriage ban,” Derrik J. Lang describes their outrage over its passage and their disdain for those who supported it. Someone needs to inform the “stars” that many people reject the mainstreaming of homosexuality because of their religious convictions. People of faith have a right to defend their values – and they don’t much care what Brad Pitt thinks. Sorry, Brad, but religious Americans believe marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman. People of the Word had better be on their guard against the Hollywood Gestapo! Anyone who opposes the radical homosexual agenda, which includes the reengineering of traditional marriage, can expect to be verbally bludgeoned by the likes of Rosie and Madonna.

According to Lang (unless otherwise noted all quotes are from Lang’s article, footnote 4):

“Many celebrities grieved the passing of Proposition 8 in California this week. Some - such as Wanda Sykes, Rose McGowen and Lance Bass - attended a Wednesday protest criticizing the state's gay marriage ban. Others - like Ellen DeGeneres, Rosie O'Donnell, Samantha Ronson and Melissa Etheridge - vented their frustrations online, on TV, and onstage.

“Blocks away from the Thursday rally of more than 2,000 gay-rights advocates outside the gates of a Mormon temple, several stars - including James Cromwell, Patricia Clarkson, Anjelica Huston and Sean Penn - said they supported the protesters while walking the red carpet at the BAFTA L.A. Brittania Awards at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. ‘I think it might be an idea to go out and join them shortly,’ Penn said. ‘It was a shameful decision that was made.’

“Etheridge, who exchanged vows with her longtime partner in a 2003 ceremony, declared she wouldn't pay her taxes in a blog entry … The gay Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter said without the right to marry in California, she didn't think she should have to pay taxes because ‘I am not a full citizen.’"

I hear you, Melissa. I feel your pain. I am not okay with my tax dollars funding Planned Parenthood (hereafter referred to as PP) the billion-dollar organization that receives federal money to dismember babies in the womb.

Melissa continues:

"’I don't mean to get too personal here … but there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes, too."

I’m with you on the tax thing. My husband and I don’t pay a bazillion bucks in taxes (although it seems like it) because we don’t earn close to what Ellen does. If we had the money the government forces us to pay we’d be able to give more to groups that share our values, and that includes the ones that work tirelessly to save the lives of the unborn.

“DeGeneres posted a brief message of support for President-elect Barack Obama and the gay-rights advocates protesting against Proposition 8 on her show's Web site Friday. The talk show host, who married actress Portia de Rossi in August, previously donated $100,000 against the ballot initiative and starred in a commercial lamenting the measure.

”’So there was a demonstration here on Wednesday night,’ DeGeneres wrote, ‘and just before I walked out here, I was watching the news and there is a huge, huge, peaceful demonstration going on in the streets, and I say, good for you, and I support you, and if I weren't here, I'd be out there with you.’”

Careful, Ellen. During a “peaceful demonstration” at the Palm Springs City Hall an elderly woman was verbally and physically assaulted. The cross she was carrying was ripped from her hands by a burly “gay” man, then thrown to the ground and trampled. (Watch the video here http://www.ouramericanvalues.org/mediaVideo.php) I wonder if Ellen and Melissa are aware of all the peaceful demonstrations (prayer vigils) going on outside abortion mills like PP. Probably not. Most “stars” put a higher value on the environment and homosexual “marriage” than they do on human life. How do I know that? For one thing, you rarely, if ever, hear them defending the rights of the unborn, even though “the most dangerous place in the world is inside the womb.”

Rosie O’Donnell had an opinion, too:

“When one person said he understood why she didn't come out against the proposition, O'Donnell responded: ‘I AM AGAINST PROP 8. DUH.’ She also wrote she believes the estimated 18,000 gay marriages would be annulled ‘like mine was years ago.’

Rosie is entitled to worry about 18,000 “gay” marriages, but what about the 50 million lives that have been annulled since 1973 when Roe v. Wade became the law of the land. This was due to a misinformed U.S. Supreme Court who said, “It is impossible to say when human life begins.” Actually, that’s untrue. Biologists are the real experts on when life begins and the consensus opinion is that life begins at the moment of conception. No intellectually honest person can deny this fact. Hence, pro-abortion proponents have blood on their hands.

Returning to Rosie:

“The former talk show host, who lives … with partner Kelli Carpenter and their four children, publicly wed Carpenter in San Francisco in 2004, two weeks after Mayor Gavin Newsom authorized granting marriage licenses to same-sex couples. The licenses were later voided by the California Supreme Court.”

As for Mayor Newsom, he ordered city officials to issue “marriage” licenses to same-sex couples, claiming he had the power to ignore state statutes he believed to be unconstitutional. Well, the court burst his bubble. It found that no executive official, either local or supreme, could have such a power. As a result of one man’s arrogance, over 4,000 same-sex couples holding “marriage” licenses still have no legal marriage benefits. I think Rosie would agree that getting the “gay” community’s hopes up was a dopey thing to do. Duh!

Lindsay Lohan's lesbian lover, Samanta Ronson, blogged that she was:

“shocked California voters approved an animal-rights initiative but that ballot measures about gay marriage and adoption in California, Florida, Arizona and Arkansas were shot down. ‘I guess people care more about farm animals than they do their fellow man, that's really sad to me,’ Ronson wrote on her MySpace blog. ‘Yes, I am glad that the chickens will have more room and better conditions as they wait to die, but I just think it's frightening that people show more compassion for tomorrow's dinner than for the chef.’"

Frankly, I’m shocked that Samantha’s shocked. What planet has she been living on? Sam’s a media person, yet she seems unaware that some earthlings show far more concern for farm animals than for the unborn, the elderly, and the infirmed. Earth to Sam: Human beings, which are God’s crowning achievement, have been reduced to mere animal status, thanks largely to Darwinian evolution and the radical environmentalist movement. So get a grip, Sam, in the world we live in now, people don’t matter.

Madonna also put in her two cents, but I won’t waste space on her ridiculous comments.

However, I will address Christina Aguilera’s ridiculous comment to MTV News:

"’I think it's discrimination…I don't understand how people can be so close-minded and so judgmental. We chose an African-American president who means so much in a time in history of great change and open-mindedness. Why is this any different? It just doesn't make sense to me.’"

I actually agree with Christina that some people are close-minded on the issues. I’ve experienced this on the issue of abortion. Those who advocate the right to kill the unborn, especially radical feminists, have closed their minds to the effects abortion has had in America. Instead of debating the issue on its merits, they do everything possible to shut down the debate, including lying to women. It doesn’t make sense to me that some Americans actually embrace homicide.

Something else that doesn’t make sense to me is that the Left is always preaching about “love” and “tolerance” but they’re not only unloving and intolerant, many of them are downright hateful. For instance:

“Two days after the election, 2,000 homosexual protesters surrounded a Mormon temple in Los Angeles chanting ‘Mormon scum.’” [5]

According to the Mormon Times:

“All of California's Catholic bishops have all come out in favor of the measure. So have many evangelical Christians and Orthodox Jews. Yet it is Mormons, who account for 2 percent of the state population, who are catching the most heat.”

Protestants are also catching some heat. Calvary Church in Chino Hills was spray painted by vandals:

“Church members’ cars have been vandalized, and at least two Christians were assaulted. Protesters even hurled racial epithets at African-Americans because African-Americans voted overwhelmingly in favor of traditional marriage.” [6]

There’s more. A group of “gay” rights protestors picketed Saddleback Church in Lake Forest Calif. holding signs reading ‘Purpose-Driven Hate’ and ‘Shame on Rick Warren.’ Shame on Rick Warren for what? He’s a man of the cloth -- a pastor! Pastors who supported Prop 8 did so because the Bible clearly teaches that the homosexual lifestyle is unnatural, destructive and sinful. Admittedly, the homosexual lifestyle is no more a sin than adultery, sex outside of marriage, covetousness, lying, pride, and so on. But a sin is a sin, and the serious Christian must not fear calling it what it is! So go ahead… say it out loud: “Homosexuality is a sin!” Thus, people of faith should have no fear of the opposition, as they have a biblical mandate to restore traditional marriage.

Worldnetdaily.com tells what happened in a church in Michigan:

“Worshippers at a Bible-teaching church in Lansing, Mich., were stunned Sunday when members of a pro-homosexual, pro-anarchy organization named Bash Back interrupted their service to fling propaganda and condoms around the sanctuary, drape a profane banner from the balcony and feature two lesbians making out at the pulpit.” [7]

The protestors also shouted “Jesus was gay.” That’s just silly because God makes it clear that sodomy is an “abomination.” (Lev. 19:2) Sodomy is “against nature,” plus same-sex sex is “unseemly.” (Rom 1:26-27) And by the way, for those who don’t have a simple grasp of Christianity, Christians believe Jesus Christ is God incarnate. Saying Jesus was gay shows colossal ignorance. Hint to the “gay” movement: This is so not the way to earn the respect and support of evangelicals.

The pastor of the church that was invaded wrote the following:

“After things settled down, the blasphemy ended, the lewd props removed and the families safe from fear of additional men and women running into and past them the pastor took the stage and led the congregation in one more prayer...not for retribution, or divine justice or a celestial comeuppance...but instead that the troubled individuals who'd just defiled the Lord's house, so full of anger and hate, would know Jesus' love in their lives and God's peace that exceeds human understanding." [8]

As for entertainers, they have a perfect right to support same-sex “marriage” and abortion on demand. But many celebrities who support traditional marriage and abhor abortion remain silent. Why? Because the entertainment industry is controlled by powerful Leftists, hence conservatives and people of faith are intimidated into silence. In the name of “tolerance” celebrities/entertainers should have the right to openly support traditional marriage. And they should have the right to speak on behalf of all people -- including the unborn – without fear of reprisal!

If you’re in the show biz industry, and you support traditional marriage, God is on your side:

"What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet" (Psalm 8:4-6).

If you’re pro-life, science is on your side!

Moreover, when someone argues for a woman’s right to choose, ask the person to explain why it’s okay to rip a human being from the womb simply because he/she is not breathing on his/her own.

Finally, inform those who feel they have a “right” to abort a fetus about the studies that point to the fact that, in most cases, abortion is a matter of convenience – and in some cases the choice to abort is based on the sex of the child. (Click here to read about sex-selection abortions in the US http://www.lifenews.com/nat4385.html.)

Bishop Robert J. Hermann of the Archdiocese of St. Louis presented the following challenge to the Catholic Church, but it applies to all who value human life:

“We have lost 50 times as many children in the last 35 years as we have lost soldiers in all the wars since the Revolution. I think any bishop…would consider it a privilege to die tomorrow to bring about an end to abortion. If we are willing to die tomorrow, we should be willing, until the end of our lives, to take all kinds of criticism for opposing this horrible infanticide.”
