A long time ago (in the 1760's to be exact), Great Britain wielded authority over the thirteen colonies on the North American continent. The colonists were, and considered themselves subjects of the British Crown.
Rightly so, the colonists came to believe they were unfairly being taxed without representation. Great Britain also demanded that the colonists follow the Motherland rules regarding matters of faith. Thomas Jefferson wrote "God, who gave us life, gave us liberty."
It is unfortunate that we have ungrateful people living in this blessed nation who do not appreciate what has been granted to them by the hands of the Almighty God, Jehovah — not Allah. America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, however, we are a nation which tolerates other faiths. You can be an atheist in America because we have freedom of religion and from religion.
Our majestic country came alive as a document was read and the Liberty Bell rang in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Engraved on the bell are these dynamic and profound words, "Proclaim liberty through all the land and to all the inhabitants thereof."
Far too many Americans do not understand the meaning of the Fourth of July holiday and the historical impact it has on their lives. Independence Day is celebrated because we declared ourselves a free, self-governing people.
These wise and resourceful colonists became creative as well as angry. Men of honor began making plans to be able to write their own rules. It became obvious that they no longer wanted Great Britain telling them what to do. They let Britain know that they were becoming an independent country. Thus America was born. Happy Birthday to the USA.

1776
June 7 Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, receives Richard Henry Lee's resolution urging Congress to declare independence.
June 11 Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston appointed to a committee to draft a declaration of independence. American army retreats to Lake Champlain from Canada.
June 12-27 Jefferson, at the request of the committee, drafts a declaration, of which only a fragment exists. Jefferson's clean, or "fair" copy, the "original Rough draught," is reviewed by the committee. Both documents are in the manuscript collections of the Library of Congress.
June 28 A fair copy of the committee draft of the Declaration of Independence is read in Congress.
July 1-4 Congress debates and revises the Declaration of Independence.
July 2 Congress declares independence as the British fleet and army arrive at New York.
July 4 Congress adopts the Declaration of Independence in the morning of a bright, sunny, but cool Philadelphia day. John Dunlap prints the Declaration of Independence. These prints are now called "Dunlap Broadsides." Twenty-four copies are known to exist, two of which are in the Library of Congress. One of these was Washington's personal copy.
July 5 John Hancock, president of the Continental Congress, dispatches the first of Dunlap's broadsides of the Declaration of Independence to the legislatures of New Jersey and Delaware.
July 6 Pennsylvania Evening Post of July 6 prints the first newspaper rendition of the Declaration of Independence.
July 8 The first public reading of the Declaration is in Philadelphia.
July 9 Washington orders that the Declaration of Independence be read before the American army in New York
July 19 Congress orders the Declaration of Independence engrossed (officially inscribed) and signed by members.
August 2 Delegates begin to sign engrossed copy of the Declaration of Independence. A large British reinforcement arrives at New York after being repelled at Charleston, S.C.
1777
January 18 Congress, now sitting in Baltimore, Maryland, orders that signed copies of the Declaration of Independence printed by Mary Katherine Goddard of Baltimore be sent to the states.

As we approach this national holiday, let us not forget that it was little more than five plus ago when we were attacked by madmen who garbed themselves in Islam. Throughout many decades the Unites States and Great Britain have stood together. They have remained our dearest allies. The United Kingdom came to our aid in our hours of need and we in theirs. Our coalition troops stand side by side fighting a world wide war.

The United Kingdom is in the throes of bravely fighting a religion that has gone amok. One wonders what kind of fool would claim that terrorism is a mere "bumper sticker slogan" as did presidential hopeful John Edwards.
Before you rush off to the beach or have your back yard barbeque, you need to take a good look at the socialistic liberalism of today, the practices of radical Islam, and quite a few more important subjects that have the potential to severely affect our liberty before it too late.
Observe the United Kingdom and understand that we also have radicals in our country pretending to be our friends as we sleep. Remember, while we get ourselves in gear to enjoy the 4th of July, that we are also their target.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: "It is clear that we are dealing, in general terms, with people who are associated with Al Qaeda." He warned Britons that the threat would be "long-term and sustained."
The war on terror is going to be around for many Fourth of Julys to come, whether we like it or not.

We remember the spirit of liberty that led men from 13 different colonies to gather in Philadelphia and pen the Declaration of Independence. To defend that freedom, the 56 signers of the Declaration pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.
