Why NOT Supporting Trump Now Would Be a Huge Mistake
Two months before his death, in denouncing The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, Patrick Henry declared: "Let us trust God, and our better judgment to set us right hereafter. United we stand, divided we fall. Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs."
To make America great again, it's time for all Republicans and conservatives to stand united with other Trump supporter, not to ponder whether to stay home, or to vote for a third party candidate, or--the ultimate revenge of the sore loser--to vote for Hillary.
They should pillory Hillary, not desert The Donald.
Because...Ii Hillary becomes POTUS, there goes SCOTUS (and the rest of the federal judiciary).
As President of the United States, Donald Trump will save the Supreme Court of the United States from an Age of Progressive Judicial Activism that will bring about the kind of "fundamental transformation" of the United States of which then presidential candidate Barack Obama eagerly spoke in 2008.
Trump is the anti-Obama and that's the antidote the United States needs.
THE FATE OF SCOTUS ALONE MAKES A TRUMP VICTORY NOT ONLY APPROPRIATE, BUT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
Kudos to Ted Cruz for acknowledging reality and suspending his campaign.
John Kasich should do the same and then graciously host the Republican National Convention this summer.
Anyone who wants constitutional conservatives appointed to SCOTUS should not let the perfect become the enemy of the good enthusiastically support Trump.
Bill Clinton appointed Justices Ginsburg and Breyer to the Supreme Court.
Barack Obama appointed Justices Sotomayor and Kagan to the Supreme Court.
Those four liberal judicial activists are one reliable vote away from rewriting the Constitution under the guise of interpreting it whenever they think that would be helpful.
Constitutional conservatives shudder at what SCOTUS nominations Hillary would make.
Note to Ted Cruz: You aren't eligible to be Vice President, thanks to the Twelfth Amendment, but you don't have to be a natural born United States citizen to be a SCOTUS Justice, so Trump can nominate you. Endorsing him sooner rather than later would be smart.
Hillary should be sending admitted bitter enders like Erick Erickson flowers:
Erickson:
"Conservatives...and the [Republican] party as a whole, still need a viable alternative to the electoral disaster that comes with Donald Trump.
"Right now Cruz is that only viable alternative. Win or lose in Indiana today, Ted Cruz needs to stay in till the bitter end."
Cruz acknowledged that he is not viable and was too smart not to step aside.
Erickson and others frustrated by the voters' expression of their will should start working to elect Trump instead of trying to create the "electoral disaster" that they think would show that they are smart.
Cruz realized that the "rule or ruin" approach would be a huge mistake.
He should tell Erickson.
It's time for Erickson to put aside his bitterness and do what is best for the United States.
It's particularly important for Republican Senate candidates to support Trump in order to give his SCOTUS nominees the best chance at confirmation.
Why?
Because Trump supporters won and they are not going to be taken for granted!
Trump supporters aren't going to support Republican candidates who aren't supporting Trump.
THAT would be an electoral disaster for those foolish Republican candidates.
Trump supporters WILL support Republican candidates supporting Trump, because they know he needs Congressional support to make America great again.
Note to Kelly Ayotte: If you are going to be reelected to the United States Senate from New Hampshire. you'll need a united Republican party. Trump and you will win or lose together in New Hampshire in November.
Note to Rob Portman (and John Kasich): If Rob Portnam is going to be reelected to the United States Senator from Ohio, he'll need a united party. Trump and Portman will win or lose together in Ohio in November.
Note to John McCain: If you are going to be reelected to the United States Senate from Arizona. you'll need a united party. Trump and you will win or lose together in Arizona in November.
Note to Pat Toomey and Club for Growtrh: If Pat Toomey is going to be reelected to the United States Senate from Pennsylvania, he'll need a united party. Trump and Toomey will win or lose together in Pennsylvania in November.
Note to Chuck Schumer: Trump and Wendy Long, your Republican/Conservative/Reform Parties rival, inwill win or lose together in New York in November and, unlike Mitt Romney, Trump is planning to win New York.
SAVE SCOTUS BY STOPPING HILLARY AND ELECT REPUBLICAN SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES WHO SUPPORT TRUMP!
