Just a few reflections on the just ended and forgettable Democrat Convention.

Quite predictably, it lacked the inspiration and good-spirited nature of the Republican Convention, preferring to stick to the Democrat's stock in trade, lies, deceptions, and smearing the opponents. Honestly, just how much of such dissembling can rational people be expected to endure?

There was no real humor moment at the DNC that could begin to compare to Clint Eastwood's masterful "chair" performance. Whenever Democrats attempt humor, it falls flat for the simple reason that real humor is grounded in truth, a concept alien to Democrat-think. So Democrat attempts at humor generally come off as "smarm-with-a-smile."

The highlight of the Democrat convention's opening day featured a woman trying to explain that her husband's failure as President should be overlooked because he is a nice guy. I'm sure that is consoling to all those who've lost their jobs, their homes, and their income while national debt and energy costs soar.

The second day's highlight was a far-too-long speech by the most notorious female predator to ever serve as President. This, from the party that would like us to believe they are the "party for women." But they LOVE their ex-president, whose success was built on his willingness to work with Republicans in Congress who had the maturity to control spending. Give Clinton his due. He was pragmatic enough to know that his only hope to remove the stain from his legacy rested with his cooperation with, as Obama puts it, "the other side."

The Party-of-Division had it's wealth of speakers who painted their opponents as opposing every minority in existence, the elderly, women, latinos, blacks, poor, etc., everyone, of course, except "the rich!"

Ever wonder how about 50% of the people who register with a party will register as Republicans, yet Democrats claim Republicans are the Party of the 1%? More Democrat math?

Ever wonder why any women would demand taxpayers buy their contraceptives so they can be "in control" of their body, while at the same time they would rabidly support Obamacare, which takes control over their entire health care away from them (and their children)?

Then there was the final day, the crowning moment, when the party had to move the festivities indoors because of the threat of ... mostly cloudy weather? Really? That they could not fill their outdoor venue with bodies couldn't possibly have anything to do with the move, right? This was a decision that has been made time and time again as the sagging Obama campaign encounters little support as it crosses the nation, lying for votes.

Yes, Obama's speech was, ah, classic Obama. Lots of words. No substance. Give it a "1" on the inspiration meter; give it a "10" on the "ho-hum" meter.

Obama's speech amounted to a recitation of excuses why it wasn't his fault coupled with a plea to move "Forward" with four more years of:  trillion-dollar deficits; unemployment averaging about twice what it was under Bush; pandering to extremist environmentalists; destroying the fossil fuel industry and all those jobs that go with it; presiding over massive increases in electricity rates as his EPA regulates coal-fired electric generation off the map; gasoline prices double what they were when he took office; a continuing depression in the housing and construction industry that drains equity built up over many years from those nearing retirement; crony favoritism with government contracts; Chicago-style governance in Washington; emaciation of our military and nuclear stockpile; and lukewarm, at best, relations with Israel, and, of course, a certain continuation of the $2.7 trillion dollar (latest CBO estimate) Obamacare nightmare (talk about taking a sledge-hammer to kill a flea!).

The news that led to the battle to restore God and support for Israel in the Obama platform was broken by Matt Drudge and Fox News. The "usual suspects" (NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, CNN) were characteristically silent or Johnny-come lately's when it comes to any negative news about Obama.

On Friday morning, Obama may finally realize he's in an uphill battle as it dawns on him that the biggest emotional spike of his convention was the battle over his removing the term "God" from the platform and his elimination of a long-standing pledge of support for Israel.

Why would anyone in their right mind choose to continue the ruinous course of the past four years over a new approach along a path to free market economic resurgence, job growth, energy independence, real solutions to our deficit/debt crises, and a certain end to Obamacare?

As a political convention, this year's Democrat Convention may best be remembered by history as the wake for a moribund Democrat Party hijacked by the most radical extreme elements of the far Left.

Look for November 6 to be a "Chick-fil-A" moment on a massive scale.
