ACORN whistleblower Anita MonCrief's lengthy, illustrated "Obama, ACORN and Stealth Socialism: Dire Domestic Threat" (http://hotair.com/archives/2010/05/29/obama-acorn-and-stealth-socialism-dire-domestic-threat/) was elevated from HotAir's Greenroom at 5 PM on Memorial Day Weekend Saturday and prompted elicited a plethora of comments.

Most commenters were very appreciative. A couple insisted that Ms. MonCrief needs to do more, but they apparently did not know all she had done, her personal circumstances or that how many people read or hear Ms. MonCrief primarily depends upon the media. A commenter who wants Glenn Beck to interview Ms. MonCrief for an hour is right about Ms. MonCrief's newsworthiness, but oblivious to the reality that Beck embraced Obamaton radical Marcel Reid as his black friend after ACORN national spokesman Scott Levenson had told him he had a problem with black people.

Taking the personal risk of blowing the whistle and being sued by ACORN alter-ego Project Vote wasn't enough for "bloviator." Ms. MonCrief placed her faith and hope in Obama and may have wanted the cup to pass, but she drained it nonetheless (and she blew the whistle without hiding behind an alias).

"How is it that someone who was a leftist radical just two years ago, is now warning about the dangers of socialism on a right wing blog? What happened? That’s a 180 degree ideological shift. How can one go from promoting socialism, to warning about it, in such a short time without some sort of ideological epiphany, of which no mention is made?

Predictably, there are doubters for whom the truth is unbelievable and troll telling us not to look behind the curtain.

That's socialist revisionist history and wishful thinking! Ms. MonCrief's name did not even appear in The New York Times until mid 2009, when New York Times Public Editor Clark Hoyt mentioned her in a whitewash op-ed of the 2008 New York Times cover up.

The comparison to Chambers is intended as the highest of compliments: Chambers was a brave, good man who lived a difficult and complicated life. From personal experience, writing as a former hardcore liberal myself, I know how agonizing it is to realize–either gradually or all at once–the utter and complete wrongness of one’s prior beliefs, and even more, the damage caused by the actions motivated by those beliefs.

Biography - Michael J. Gaynor

Michael J. Gaynor has been practicing law in New York since 1973. A former partner at Fulton, Duncombe & Rowe and Gaynor & Bass, he is a solo practitioner admitted to practice in New York state and federal courts and an Association of the Bar of the City of New York member.

Gaynor graduated magna cum laude, with Honors in Social Science, from Hofstra University's New College, and received his J.D. degree from St. John's Law School, where he won the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence and served as an editor of the Law Review and the St. Thomas More Institute for Legal Research.
