Lipstick On A Marxist Does Not Work Either
This week, Senator Barack Obama used a common colloquialism to refer to the policies of the Bush Administration and of Republican presidential candidate John McCain who will continue on with most of them. He said that you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig. It is entirely interesting however that Obama would choose such a saying. Especially on the heels of Sarah Palin’s comments at the Republican convention mentioning that there is only one difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull – that difference being only lipstick. Couple that with the fact that Obama associates and former sixties radicals (who are still radicals today) often refer to members of the establishment (such as police) as “pigs”.
It will go down as one of those comments that will be hotly debated as to exactly what Obama meant. Was it just an ill timed remark given the recent joke by Palin? Or was it a deliberate jab at the Republican vice-presidential candidate? And whether he was referring to Palin as the “pig” or just the lipstick that is being used to sex up said pig, as is now being claimed by the left, does it really matter? Because either one is insulting.
I personally do not care which he meant. With Obama, what comes out of his mouth are “just words” that he rarely means anyway. Rather I care to address the assertion in general of referring to the poor policies and bad ideas as pigs wearing lipstick.
Now, anyone that reads my weekly articles or my daily blog posts knows darn well that I have taken President Bush out to the woodshed and whipped him from time to time when he has done things that are wrong. Off the top of my head I remember his blind willingness to sign Campaign Finance Reform with it’s unconstitutional wording plain for all to see, his support for amnesty for criminal aliens and most recently his stubborn willingness to chuck free market ideas and bailout people who loaned more money than they should to people they should not have loaned money to and those that took out loans they could not reasonably be prepared to actually pay back. People who regularly read my writings know that I am not a McCain supporter either and constantly deride the candidate as not being a real reformer when it comes to the worst violations of our Constitution and rampant spending. And while I do like Palin more than most members of the Republican Party, she is not without her own flaws either. And to be quite honest no one has had time to fully vet her.
So even though on a weekly basis I get the standard emails from those that think I am some sort of Republican Party hack, my track record is quite clear and available for all to see. Indeed, some of this current administration’s policies are just pigs with lipstick on trying to convince us to kiss them. I admit it. Of course for years I have been saying that the Republican Party is just made up of a bunch of people that would have been FDR Democrats back in the day and that have did not want to follow the Democratic Party in their march further leftward to bigger and grander socialist plans.
So I will throw this out there for your consumption. Just like a pig cannot be made to not be a pig by the addition of lipstick, a Marxist cannot be made more palatable to look at with the same ploy. Some people refer to Barack Obama as an “empty suit”. I prefer to, from now on, refer to him as a Marxist dolled up with lipstick.
Now I am not saying, because I can already envision the predictable angry and hysterical emails by partisan hacks being hurled at me, that Barack Obama is a drag queen! Although I have no doubt that he would be infinitely more successful in such a career than as a politician, I know those of you that week after week send me emails ranting and raving about how I am some sort of closet NAZI, racist, homophobe, sexist too well. My comment is purely rhetorical.
Obama himself is the lipstick that has been placed on the theories of Karl Marx trying desperately to get the American public to embrace and even kiss those ideas. If at all possible the left hopes that we will go even further and get into bed and consummate our relationship with Marxism if they make those ideas seem attractive enough. Obama is the good looking, suave facade (the lipstick) that has been put over ideas that have been tried, that have failed, and that have been rejected time and again over the past hundred or so years.
Take away the good looks however and what you have are nothing more than the ideas of Karl Marx himself. Cut out the suave man who is great at delivering a speech with his lines fed to him on a teleprompter and, once again, you have nothing more than the ideas of Karl Marx recycled for the consumption of a new generation.
Yes, I know, I’m a mean, heartless, evil man for saying this and I am ready for you to tell me that in defense of your messiah. It is too bad that such retorts are about as deep as responses to these facts get. But at the same time they cannot be any deeper because these claims I make are true.
The idea of higher and progressive taxes as one makes more money? Right out of the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx. Redistribution of the wealth from those that labor to create by the confiscation of private property? You do not have to read too far through the same seminal document of Marxist ideology to come across that plank of the platform. Education of our children that is controlled by the state? Pulled right out of the very same pages. Rants about the rich and how they are the problem? Such comments came from the very mouth of Karl Marx back in his own day.
Today we have nothing but a Marxist wearing lipstick standing before us. He is begging us to kiss him. And if we do, it will be the kiss of death for liberty and for America. Lipstick does not change what it is put on to hide. Much like a pig wearing lipstick is still a pig, poisonous Marxist ideology wearing the same makeup is still poisonous Marxist ideology.
