Wal-Mart Comes Out of the Closet


A month ago the American Family Association (AFA) asked Americans to boycott Wal-Mart due to the company’s aggressively Pro-Homosexual agenda. Today, every national news program revealed that Wal-Mart has reported a decline in sales, in the midst of the busiest shopping season of the year.

It seems that boycotts work. A month ago the American Family Association (AFA) asked Americans to boycott Wal-Mart due to the company’s aggressively Pro-Homosexual agenda. Today, every national news program revealed that Wal-Mart has reported a decline in sales, in the midst of the busiest shopping season of the year. This is especially significant because Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, has experienced increasing sales every year for the last six years as the giant has expanded globally (see LINK below).

Could this be a result of the threatened boycott of Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club (which is owned by Wal-Mart) stores by hundreds of thousands of Christians mobilized by the American Family Association (see LINK below)? Apparently so. After the boycott announcement went out, even before the date of the planned boycott, sales dropped enough for Wal-Mart to reverse its Pro-Homosexual position (see LINK to “Wal-Mart Changes its Mind” below). In response, the AFA withdrew its request for a boycott.

The American Family Association already had 400,000 families who had promised not to shop at Wal-Mart on November 25 & 26, and was well on the way to its goal of one million families. What were Wal-Mart’s sins that caused the AFA to take such a drastic step? There were many, but I will list the most egregious.

Last March, according to the AFA, Wal-Mart chose to promote "Brokeback Mountain" video over a top-selling family-oriented film. Wal-Mart began taking advance orders for the disgusting homosexual “love” movie, "Brokeback Mountain." A large display greeted customers when they walked through the front doors of the store. "Brokeback Mountain" was released the same day as best selling pro-family movie, "The Chronicles of Narnia." Wal-Mart chose to promote the perverted "Brokeback Mountain" instead of the wholesome, critically-acclaimed "Chronicles of Narnia."

Wal-Mart gave a generous cash donation (see LINK below) to the Northwest Arkansas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center, helping to provide a place where homosexuals can come together to "socialize." How does providing a place for perversion to flourish advance the goals of Wal-Mart’s shareholders, who are paying the bills?

Wal-Mart has over 1700 products for sale on its site for homosexual, bisexual and transgender buyers (se LINK below). These include such delightful books as “What God Has Joined Together: The Christian Case for Gay Marriage;” “Gay Marriage: Why It Is Good for Gay, Good for Straights, and Good for America;” and “Gay Marriage, Real Life: Ten Stories of Love and Family.”

Wal-Mart has entered into marketing agreements to support homosexual organizations. In the example below, Wal-Mart agreed to give 5% of online sales to the organization for referrals from its site. By the way, homosexual hate organizations have attacked the AFA for reporting on this, claiming that AFA was misleading people by claiming that 5% of ALL Wal-Mart online sales were being given to homosexuals. But if you read AFA’s press release below, they make it very clear that the payments to the homosexuals come only “…from online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's Web site.” Just another example of how homosexual activists twist facts to support their perversions.

AFA press release: “In a show of support to help homosexuals legalize same-sex marriage, Wal-Mart has agreed to automatically donate 5% of online sales directly to the Washington DC Community Center for Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender People. The cash donation will come from online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's Web site. Every purchase made online…at the site will automatically send 5% of the sales to the CCBLBT People. The agreement is an indication that Wal-Mart is totally committed to supporting the homosexual movement.”

Wal-Mart asked for and received permission to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. The NGLCC is a leading promoter of homosexual marriage. Although Wal-Mart has never excluded homosexuals from being employees, customers, or suppliers, the company wanted to be more closely identified with promoting the homosexual agenda. Wal-Mart is now a “corporate member” of the NGLCC, putting their approval on the NGLCC’s efforts to abolish the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. As a reward for Wal-Mart’s support, a Wal-Mart vice president will serve as an advisor to the NGLCC, helping them promote homosexual marriage.

Wal-Mart has agreed to give a $25,000 donation to the NGLCC and to pay for two conferences scheduled by NGLCC. Also, Wal-Mart will give homosexual-owned businesses special treatment when making purchasing decisions. Companies owned by normal people will be moved down the list. NGLCC called Wal-Mart’s action "part of the company's ongoing commitment to advancing diversity (read: homosexuality) among all of its associate, supplier and customer bases."

Wal-Mart, traditionally located in rural and suburban areas, is desperately trying to break into urban markets, and its prime target is California. So they donated $60,000 (see LINK below) to the San Francisco branch of Out & Equal, a homosexual organization pushing the same-sex agenda, including same-sex marriage, in the workplace. They also sponsored the Out & Equal Workplace Summit held this past September in Chicago. The purpose of the conference was to train homosexuals to convince the companies for which they work to support the homosexual agenda and to encourage other companies to do the same.

Wal-Mart has gone on record that they are an advocate for the homosexual agenda. In the Out & Equal 2006 Workplace Summit Program Guide, Wal-Mart placed a full-page ad (see LINK below) which explicitly stated that it would be an advocate for the homosexual movement. Keep in mind this ad was developed for the homosexual conference and aimed at participating homosexual groups.

At the Out & Equal Conference, Pride, Wal-Mart's in-house homosexual advocacy group (see LINK below), presented a PowerPoint presentation detailing how they were successful in getting Wal-Mart to support the homosexual agenda. The PowerPoint presentation (see LINK below) telling Pride's story, contains 51 frames. Each page of the presentation contains the line "Confidential Wal-Mart Stores, Inc." (They were very up-front with the homosexuals, but they wanted to keep the connection “Confidential” from their other customers.) The PowerPoint was used to encourage conference participants to follow Pride's example in the companies for which they work.

Perhaps the most egregious action Wal-Mart has taken has been to force its employees to undergo homosexual indoctrination. Imagine the outcry if the company had forced employees to undergo indoctrination in Biblical moral principles! They hired a homosexual agency to come to their headquarters for a two-day required indoctrination session for all Wal-Mart employees.

Most business people feel it would have been a wise business decision for Wal-Mart to remain neutral in the cultural battle over homosexual marriage. But this was not a business decision; it was an ideological decision by Wal-Mart. If it had been a business decision, the company would have heeded important statistics. First, that most Americans consider themselves Christians, and the Bible clearly condemns homosexuality. Second, 27% of Americans consider themselves born-again Christians, Christians who closely follow the Bible and would be offended by Wal-Mart pushing for special rights for homosexuals. Finally, less than 4% of Americans consider themselves homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals or transgender individuals.

So why would the largest retailer in the world risk alienating the vast majority of Americans in order to cultivate a small minority of individuals who want to force their perverted lifestyle on normal people? The answer is simple. The company has been systematically infiltrated by homosexuals, just as Disney was years ago. Using coercion, persuasion and threats of lawsuits, they have convinced the company’s leaders that it is in the interest of Wal-Mart to give homosexuals living together the same rights as married couples and to donate huge sums of money to homosexual organizations.

The AFA won a moral victory when it forced Wal-Mart to issue the following statement (see LINKS below): “Wal-Mart will not make corporate contributions to support or oppose highly controversial issues unless they directly relate to our ability to serve our customers. Wal-Mart does not have a position on same sex marriage and we do not give preference to gay or lesbian suppliers.”

Of course the second sentence is blatantly false. If you read the articles linked below, you will see that Wal-Mart hired a homosexual Public Relations agency specifically to advise them on how to give special rights to homosexuals without offending the majority of their customers who are Christians. And they have announced to homosexual advocacy groups that they would give preference to homosexual suppliers.

Let’s hope the first sentence is true. Let’s hope that the show of force from the Christian community has convinced them to at least stop advocating for and promoting the homosexual agenda.

Unfortunately, as a homosexual blogger gloated, the wording of Wal-Mart’s statement may allow them to wiggle out of their statement and continue as before. They said they will no longer support or oppose “highly controversial issues”. But because homosexual sin has become so rampant, as the homosexual site stated, Wal-Mart could simply say that they don’t consider the issue to be “highly controversial.”

Wal-Mart issued the statement, and the American Family Association took it to mean that they would stop supporting and pushing organizations that promote perversion. But what if they did that just to stop the boycott? They might be thinking that it’s worth a few words to save a few billion dollars in sales.

Let’s hold their feet to the fire. Write, call, FAX or email Lee Scott, the President of Wal-Mart (contact info is below). In fact, why not communicate with him all four ways! Obviously his staff will take the phone messages and read the letters, FAXes and emails. But if enough of us take the time to do this, he will hear about it!

Let him know politely, but in no uncertain terms, that if Wal-Mart breaks its promise, you will stop shopping at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. Remind him that it is just as easy to reinstate the boycott (which 400,000 American families pledged to support) as it was to cancel it. Regardless of what Wal-Mart and similar corporate giants would have you believe, We, the People, DO hold the power.
