Democrats Slap We the People in the face—again

With yet another move designed to show their disdain for their constituents—and the American people as a whole—the Democrat-run Congress has refused to do their job and allow a vote that would help lower gasoline prices. By rescinding the Executive Order banning offshore oil drilling, President Bush has done what he can. But, the Democrats who are beholden to monies provided by their left-wing-deep-pockets environmental extremists—who have refused to allow drilling. The facts are that we can drill our way out of our foreign-oil-dependency problem. But the Democrats will not allow us to drill—where the oil exists—in our own country. And even as China and Russia will drill for oil off of our shores, the Democrats and their faux environmentalist—but deep-pocket—cronies have refused to allow the United States to do the same.

No more paying any attention—whatsoever—to we-the-people who elected them, the House Democrats voted to go on a 5-week vacation instead of doing something to solve our gasoline problems; even though the solution is within their grasp. In other very loud words, Democrat leaders have slapped us in the face again. In 2006, now House leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) promised us a “common sense plan” to lower gas prices. Bear in mind, this was at a time that per gallon prices hovered around $2.00. However, since taking control of the House and Senate Democrats have brought us gas prices that have escalated to new and unprecedented historical highs! There is no excuse for their behaviors—or non behaviors. But, there is a reason.

Prior to the upcoming 2008 presidential election, Democrats want the American people to be as uncomfortable and unhappy as possible—and then blame this discomfort (especially high gas prices) on Republicans. However, this time—hopefully—the facts have been widely enough reported so that the people are not again duped. In 2006 and prior to their taking majority in the House and the Senate, Democrats promised a speedy fix to our energy problems. Since being elected, they have done nothing. Their new mantra seems to be: “Better to win and screw the public than not to win at all!” Note: I’m pretty sure this has been Harry Reid’s (D-NV) and Nancy Pelosi’s attitude for years. Once our erstwhile representatives are elected and go to Washington D.C., they are close to becoming extraordinarily wealthier and do not have to be concerned about such petty and mundane problems as the price of gas. But, we-the-people still do.

As the November elections approach, please do not be further deceived. Know where your opposition is really located.
