The “head fake” that the sensible knew was coming may be arriving a bit earlier than expected. With all of the socialist stumbles of the communist coterie known as the Obama administration to this early point in the game, the inevitable “look towards 2010” reveals to the progressive prognosticators a need for a fallacious “move towards the middle”. This will be accompanied by a misleading “tax cut” totaling an insignificant amount that will garner the typical heavy breathing, perspiration and swooning that every liberal misdirection receives from the complicit “impartial” media.. With as much damage as they have done, it would seem appropriate that this Democratic diversion would need to be done at such an early moment in Obama’s Totalitarian tenure..
The generosity of the Obama caliphate is staggering. Within a “budget” that will approach four trillion dollars when all is said and done, seventeen billion has been placed on the chopping block.. That amounts to about one half of one percent. Don’t spend it all in one place.. Obama marionette Peter Orszag said, “Seventeen billion a year is not chump change by anyone’s accounting..” The habitual “fabrication” that is part of the liberal genus cannot be contained or corralled..
First of all, it is not “a year” as incorrectly stated but just for fun, lets take the green eye shade guru’s egregious exaggeration at face value. If my mathematics don’t fail me, (and they might..) by my calculations this so called “savings” will take nearly 236 years to simply “break even” and that would be with the assumption that any liberal government or congress wouldn’t spend another nickel.. Talk about “pushing the budgetary cuts envelope”.. Orszag may not consider this “chump change” but it is nothing more than “change” from “chumps”. Or if we accept passively this, it would be “change” for “chumps”. More “change” Obama style..
The numbers game continues on as they proudly boast that they are going to “trim or eliminate” 121 programs in order to achieve this mammoth one half of one percent. Within the liberal lexicon, “trim or eliminate” translates to “rename and redirect” and nothing more. Here are a few more “numbers” for your consideration: one half or 50% of these “renamed and redirected savings” are from the defense budget. These will definitely be “redirected” under the Obama “Maximum Vulnerability” plan.. Moderate Bush, with a less “imaginary” budget and having to fight a liberal “acrimonious” House and Senate, wanted 151 programs addressed for a “savings” of 18 billion. This was when the idea of the “deficit” sent the liberals into a public diarrhea panic, but today the “deficit” is as frightening to them as their imaginary “population explosion” or their “ice age” phantasms of the past.. The impending Obama “deficit” doesn’t alarm them and the Obama “inflation” that will make the corn pone communist Carter look like a piker, doesn’t register with them either. It’s all about getting past 2010 and “keeping control”..
In, “Obama trims budget, but less than Bush” we hear from a “senior administration official whom the White House allowed to brief reporters early on the condition of anonymity..”, (WHAT!! If the White House APPROVED it, why the need for “anonymity??) that “we are trying to do the right thing here and I think the context has significantly changed..” The “context has significantly changed”? Let’s see, there is STILL a liberal House and Senate as there has been for years, there is a liberal President as opposed to a moderate President. What has significantly changed, other than the Obama deficit and the Obama inflation which will soon be making landfall..
Maybe it stems from a “perceived change in attitude in Congress” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin. The “change in attitude” brought about by the seating of a liberal Democrat in the Oval Office as opposed to the moderate Republican that he replaced. Acrimony has transformed to hegemonist harmony..
Just one example of the “six of one, half a dozen of another” liberal mentality is this “budget” seeks to “eliminate” the “ineffective” State Criminal Alien Assistance Program that helps the states defray their costs of incarcerating the overwhelming illegal alien criminal population. However, “Homeland Security is poised to see a substantial increase to shore up border security and to target employers who hire illegal aliens..” Maybe if “border security” had been a “concern” a little earlier.. It seems that if you manage to evade the “border security”, you are free to do as you wish here. Since the government subsidizes Amtrak, send the border burglars back in hermetically sealed trains and let them out near Guatemala..
Within this 1,500-page document are a few looks into the liberal methodology. Obama grudgingly agreed to let 12.2 million dollars continue towards the “D.C. Opportunity Scholarships Program”. This is a fancy name for a “vouchers” program in Washington D.C. 7,500 students benefit from this program and Obama has “generously” decided to allow those in the program to graduate. He and the Democrats, will end the program as part of the “Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009” (The Progressive Porkbarrel Polemic of 2009..) Wouldn’t it be “transparent” to know what these 7,500 students accomplished versus the rest of the NEA “educated” students in the nation’s capitol? This type of “information” only strengthens the resolve behind vouchers and weakens the position of another Democratic special interest group desperately looking for their payoff..
Obama wants to scrap the “Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation”. Of course, the name of “Christopher Columbus” has to raise the hackles of the heretics of the left alone but here we have a program that sponsors a “science competition” for bright AMERICAN students. It would appear that Obama’s “promises” to boost science in the schools during his insipid campaign were as hollow as all of the other helium filled fabrications he floated while begging for more political power..
However, keep in mind that the Obama administration and Secretary of Statists Rodham on March 9, 2009 announced that the American taxpayer would be providing a “million dollar scholarship program for Palestinian students”. PALESTINIAN students.. That’s right, ten scholarships and 25 “opportunity grants” for Palestinian students.. I wondered where this money would come from when this scam was announced and now we know not only who will be paying for it, we know who will benefit from it and who will be penalized as well.. This “program” is called the “Middle Eastern Partnership Initiative”. The liberals have been in “partnership” with the Middle Easterners with the mutual goal of the destruction of America, so this is just another logical extension of their “partnership”..
Obama wants to “eliminate” a program called “Even Start” which takes 66 million dollars for “promoting literacy for young children and their parents”.. (PARENTS!!) This coming from someone who “promised” to make early childhood education a “priority”.. With such a socialist sounding name as “Even Start”, I am guessing that the leftists are more concerned with an “Even Outcome” project. This has the potential to be a prime example of the “appear centrist, rename and redirect” progressive program. Think 2010..
Even a Department of Education “attache” making $632,000 a year while suffering in PARIS FRANCE is scheduled for the Obama “Marie Antoinette” guillotine.. That money will undoubtedly be redirected to another domestic NEA goon, however the payoff will need to be amped up just a skosh and the “attache” will land comfortably somewhere in Washington.
In the end, all of this blather about “discretionary spending” and “cuts” will turn out to be “vital government services” once the liberal Congress and another “imaginary diversionary epidemic” or three is inflated by the “impartial” media. This topic, like so many others before will be systematically bumped from the headlines and from the attention ADD afflicted public.. This is the equivalent of stooping to pick up a penny while packs of hundred-dollar bills fly over your head. Douglas Holtz-Eakin said “the Obama administration will have better luck in cutting, but it’s almost certainly a false hope..”
