Will Miller See the Light?

The “wonderful and exciting event” Newsom is all a twitter about is the annual homosexual "leather" street fair in San Francisco. Not surprisingly there’s a controversy brewing over a poster advertisement sponsored by Miller Brewing Co. The poster is a take off on Leonardo Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” only this version portrays Christ and his disciples as sado-masochists. And of course “gays” are not man enough to admit that it’s a deliberate attempt to mock Christianity.

“To all organizers and attendees of the Folsom Street Fair, their families, friends, colleagues and visitors from home and around the world, have a great day and enjoy this wonderful and exciting event." -- San Francisco mayor, Gavin Newsom

The “wonderful and exciting event” Newsom is all a twitter about is the annual homosexual "leather" street fair in San Francisco. (The website is too disturbing to include a link.) Not surprisingly there’s a controversy brewing over a poster advertisement [1] sponsored by Miller Brewing Co. The poster is a take off on Leonardo Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” only this version portrays Christ and his disciples as sado-masochists. And of course “gays” are not man enough to admit that it’s a deliberate attempt to mock Christianity.

Here’s what you can expect to see if you visit the Folsom Street Fair:

"The most unimaginable and vile acts of debauchery are commonplace during the fair. Senator Larry Craig was arrested and driven out of the Senate for allegedly soliciting public 'gay' sex, yet during this event the city of San Francisco suspends the law and allows 'gay' men and women to parade the streets fully nude, many having sex - even group orgies - in broad daylight, while taxpayer funded police officers look on and do absolutely nothing." [2]

As the old saying goes, gays will be gays. And to think, people actually take youngsters to these fairs. Of course no sane person would subject an innocent child to this sort of perversion.

For reasons known only to them, Miller Brewing Co. has sponsored the obscene sado-masochistic “leather” fair for years. Because God’s people displayed a little righteous anger, Miller asked to have their logo removed from the ad, or so they claim. The company told Cyber News Service: "While Miller has supported the Folsom Street Fair for several years, we take exception to the poster the organizing committee developed this year. We understand some individuals may find the imagery offensive and we have asked the organizers to remove our logo from the poster effective immediately." [3]

Someone lied. According to the Catholic League, the Miller Brewing logo remains on the ad at this writing.

Miller is digging in its collective heels. A company spokesperson stated that Miller would not withdraw its sponsorship from the event. And that’s their right. But the consumer also has the right to refrain from purchasing Miller’s brew or anything else the company produces as long as the powers that be continue to sponsor filth. (More on this later.)

According to Cyber News Service, “The group behind the ad says it was not intended to be either ‘pro-religion or anti-religion.’” Really. And the reason sado-masochists chose to use a religious icon was...?

Now let’s say Miller Brewing Co. sponsored a street fair put on by evangelicals for the purpose of promoting moral values. Say the organizing committee decided to do a take off on Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch’s painting of “Hell,” [4] which depicts dreadful everlasting punishment of sinners of all stripes. What if evangelicals replaced the faces in Bosch’s painting with pictures of openly “gay” individuals like, say, Elton John and Ellen DeGeneres? Would the “gay” community simply dismiss it and go about their lives? No. Would they find it offensive? Of course. Would they rant about it being a hate crime? Most certainly. Would they take exception to Miller Brewing sponsoring an event that demeans “gays” and demand that they pull their sponsorship? You bet your bippy.

We need only to look at what happened to Peter LaBarbera, President of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, to know how the gay-rights mafia operates.

LaBarbera was scheduled to fly to Newark, N.J., to participate in a “Religion in the Workplace Roundtable” discussion sponsored by DiversityInc Magazine. But less than a week before the event he was disinvited. According to LaBarbera, “three of the panelists decided that true diversity was something they simply could not tolerate.” It seems LaBarbera received an “awkward call from Barbara Frankel, DiversityInc’s Executive Editor, who had originally invited me to take part in the roundtable — along with Daryl Herrschaft, Director of the Workplace Project at Human Rights Campaign, a homosexual activist group, and several other panelists including the president of American Atheists.”

Ms. Frankel admits she was forced to disinvite LaBarbera, “because,” he says, “Herrschaft and two other panelists (she wouldn’t say whom) had threatened not to come if I were allowed to participate. (I had already bought my airline ticket and received planning materials for the discussion.) Ironically, one of the proposed questions for the roundtable was: ‘How do you balance the need to create an open and equal workplace for LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] employees with the religious beliefs of those who oppose same-sex relationships?’”

A very up set Frankel apologized to LaBarbera and claimed that her hands were tied. (No pun intended.) “She could have stuck with the original plan,” LaBarbera said, “and told Herrschaft and his two allies to take a hike, or at least a refresher course on genuine diversity.” [5]

Now then, who would you cross, a Christian activist or the gay-rights mafia?

But I’ve strayed from the point.

Andy Copper, president of the Folsom Street Fair’s board of directors, said there was no intention "to be particularly pro-religion or anti-religion with this poster; the image is intended only to be reminiscent of 'The Last Supper' painting.”

C’mon, Mr. Cooper, who are you trying to kid? Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” depicts Jesus Christ and the twelve apostles in an event taken from the pages of the Bible -- which means it’s a religions painting! The homosexual “leather” community’s depiction of “The Last Supper” has “gays” lesbians, transgenders and cross-dressers, who get a kick out S&M, seated (some standing) at a long table arrayed with homosexual symbols that include whips, ropes, chains, shackles, prods and heaven only knows what else. There’s even a sculpture of a bright red clenched fist. I read somewhere that it represents them shaking their fist at God. Then again, it could represent their fondness for fisting!

Cooper continues… "We hope that people will enjoy the artistry for what it is - nothing more or less. Many people choose to speculate on deeper meanings. The irony is that da Vinci was widely considered to be homosexual.” [6]

Two things. First, the “artistry” he speaks of is nothing more than a group of sexually confused men and women promoting depravity. Second, Leonardo da Vinci was not widely considered to be a homosexual as Cooper asserts. At best the evidence is circumstantial and very weak. Da Vinci was cleared of all charges that were brought against him. (Read 7) But, then, a dead man cannot defend himself against slanderous accusations from the grave, so the lies about him shall continue. It’s unfortunate that the reputation of Leonardo Da Vinci has been tarnished for the singular purpose of normalizing a deviant lifestyle.

Concerned Women for America made this spot on observation about the poster:

“In their version of The Last Supper, Christ, Who gave His life for our sins, is despicably replaced by sin itself as the object of worship.”

Even after the deliberate offense to Christians was brought to light, Miller Brewing Co. did not withdraw their support of the Folsom Street Fair. Moreover, California taxpayers are forced to subsidize this rot with their hard earned tax dollars.

It wouldn’t hurt to let Miller know how you feel about their desire to score points with advocates of homosexual behavior. Remind them that children are among those who attend the fair, where nudity and sexual acts are commonplace. Here’s the contact information:

Something else to consider. Another work by Hieronymus Bosch has the title “The Ship of Fools.” In this painting Bosch depicts the utter depravity of man. Nicholas Pioch of the WebMuseum enlightens us on the message the artist wanted to convey:

“In The Ship of Fools Bosch is imagining that the whole of mankind is voyaging through the seas of time on a ship, a small ship, that is representative of humanity. Sadly, every one of the representatives is a fool. This is how we live, says Bosch--we eat, drink, flirt, cheat, play silly games, pursue unattainable objectives. Meanwhile our ship drifts aimlessly and we never reach the harbour. The fools are not the irreligious, since promiment among them are a monk and a nun, but they are all those who live ‘in stupidity’. Bosch laughs, and it is a sad laugh. Which one of us does not sail in the wretched discomfort of the ship of human folly? Eccentric and secret genius that he was, Bosch not only moved the heart but scandalized it into full awareness. The sinister and monstrous things that he brought forth are the hidden creatures of our inward self-love: he externalizes the ugliness within, and so his misshapen demons have an effect beyond curiosity. We feel a hateful kinship with them. The Ship of Fools is not about other people, it is about us.” [8]

Bosch showed the public what the Bible says about man’s total depravity:

“Since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them” (Romans 1:28-32).
