Conservatives Do Not Deserve to Lose!

This is no time to cut and run. A Republican or conservative "fast from politics" would only aid those who are the worst enemy of the United States. Do you want to support George Soros, Michael Moore, and the rest of the Democrat Leftists who would trash the U.S. at every opportunity?

This is no time to cut and run

African Americans should not go to the polls on Election Day. Some folks inside the DNC have ridiculed Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, hence blacks should shun politics. Forget about voting! Let the Republicans win. That’ll show the Democrats.

Would blacks find that suggestion troubling? You bet they would. Evidently David Kuo, former deputy director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Community Initiatives, and a professed Christian, thinks it’s a good idea for Christians to “fast from politics.” During an interview Mr. Kuo told 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl, “I think that Christians, particularly evangelical Christians, need to take a step back. To have a fast from politics.” Why did he make this comment to Stahl? Well, his feelings were hurt by some inside the administration that held nothing but contempt for Christian leaders. Should that scandalize Christians? I mean, there are a few Christian leaders who have made harebrained remarks that they’ve had to apologize for. So why was Kuo so surprised?

According to Gary Bauer, president of American Values, “Kuo was a political appointee, yet like Captain Renault in Casablanca, he was “shocked” to discover politics in the White House...I believe the president’s faith is real, but the fact is there are libertarians in the administration who don’t always see eye-to-eye with conservative leaders. A few snide comments from those folks means absolutely nothing about the policies or programs the president is supporting. But Kuo is disillusioned with the White House and politics because, in his view, there wasn’t sufficient emphasis on poverty, and after September 11th the programs he was working on took a back seat to Afghanistan and Iraq.” Concerning the 60 Minutes interview, Bauer asks, “When was the last time CBS featured a story with a prominent Christian leader about the positive influence of evangelicals in America? I guess it’s only “newsworthy” when one confused Christian suggests others “fast from politics” three weeks before an election.”

The left-wing media has reached a new low.

David Kuo was so hurt by the rude comments made by the GOP meanies that he felt it was necessary to write a book exposing them. Kuo’s book was published just two weeks before the November election, as was another insider book written by Washington Post Reporter Bob Woodward.

I smell a rat, or two.

Religious Right voters are being manipulated into believing that Republicans deserve to lose the election. If the GOP deserves to lose then who, pray tell, deserves to win? If the drive-by media are successful with their cut and run message to conservatives, the secular-progressive Christian-bashers will run the country.

Al-Qaeda will be pleased.

Bear in mind that if the SP’s take over the House and Senate, no conservative judge will ever be appointed. (Just imagine the spectacle the Dems will create over conservative nominees!) Liberal judges, many of whom have lifetime appointments, reinterpret the intended meaning of the U.S. Constitution and legislate from the bench. They make laws to implement the social agenda they’re unable to get passed through the legislative process.

“Now this despotic [judicial] branch has been successful, to the joy of secular liberals, by outlawing school prayer, funding the deaths of over 43 million babies, banned the Bible from the classroom, removing the Ten Commandments from the public square, violated free speech by upholding the Campaign Finance Reform Law, and more. By avoiding the original intent the First and Second Amendments, property rights, and more are now under constant attack. The sound bites and deceptive spin used by secular liberals and the ignorance and apathy of many Americans will have their descendents wondering what was the ‘American way of life.’

“It is imperative that America immediately recognize these assaults for what they are, an all out attack to remove America’s Christian heritage from all academics, weaken the American military power and relinquishing America’s sovereignty to an UNELECTED United Nations Security Council, which has nothing but disdain for the U.S. Constitution.” [1]

The Left’s anti-God, relativistic, self-seeking ideology has driven our country to the brink of moral collapse! We are literally drenched in sex everywhere we turn. With conservatives out of power the perversity will only get worse.

Something else. Much of the progress made by the Republican Party during the Bush Administration will go up in flames.

Speaking of flames, the left-wing media has all the subtly of a lightning bolt when striking at the Religious Right. They’re doing everything in their power (and they do have power) to influence the election. One tactic is to convince evangelicals that the Republican Party devalues them, disrespects them, even scorns them, so they shouldn’t vote for evil Republicans. Enter David Kuo, patsy for the Left.

So, who’s behind all the propaganda and outrageous lies? (funded by George Soros) and other far-left groups.

Conservatives only deserve to lose if they allow themselves to be tricked and manipulated by liberals. Before Republicans cut and run they should consider this: “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is within your power to act” (Proverbs 3:27). As well, conservatives should consider the really serious weighty issues before us: the acknowledgment of God in the public square, the sanctity of life, the war on terror, Iraq, the definition of marriage, free speech, religious freedom around the world and here at home, illegal immigration, education reform, the economy (today the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at above 12,000 for the first time ever), and filling the next Supreme Court vacancy.

Let me be clear that politicians on both sides of the aisle must be held accountable for their misconduct. The moral corruption in the halls of Congress is abominable! Which only confirms the need to vote for family values on Election Day. According to Concerned Women for America (CWFA), if Democrats run the 110th Congress, “family values bills will be swept aside in the tide of a liberal House and Senate. The Child Custody Protection Act, the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, the Ban on Human Cloning -- bills that dedicated pro-family representatives and senators have worked hard to move forward -- will never see the light of day.” If this isn’t bad enough, CWFA maintains that, “Liberals have bills waiting in the wings that would give voting rights to criminals (H.R. 1300; H.R. 663), nationalize our healthcare system (H.R. 4683), and implement a bill of welfare rights that includes abortion, progressive taxation, and union membership (H.J. Res. 29-35).” This is scary stuff, folks!

Many readers have written to me expressing their contempt for government and to criticize me for urging Christians to become involved in the political process. “Christian are not to be occupied with government matters,” they insist. They take Scripture out of context to prove their point. I respectfully disagree with my critics. Christians are people of the Gospel. Sharing the Gospel with the lost is our main responsibility. In order to spread the Good News, believers must engage the culture. How is that possible without religious liberty?

The Bible tells us that both the state and the church have been established by God and are under God. Which is why it should matter to God’s people what our culture looks like. Noted theologian R.C. Sproul offers his view of the government instituted by God:

“In our political heritage, as well as in our Christian heritage we understand that there is a difference between the institution of civil government (the state) and the institution of the church. It is not the church’s task nor responsibility to tell the governor how to govern or to make the government establish our religious preferences. However, we also have to keep in mind that both the state and the church are under God. The state is not sovereign; the state never has the right to do wrong. The state is always under the authority of God. God institutes government, God ordains government, and God will judge government. He holds government and all other institutions in our society responsible for doing what is right.”

God holds His people accountable for doing what is right. Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will council you and watch over you.”

Dr. Sproul goes on to say,

“Right and wrong are not uniquely decided by Christians. There are certain commandments we are to perform as Christians...God tells me as a Christian to pay my bills on time. He tells me not to use false weights and balances in my business. I think that it’s perfectly appropriate to recommend that the state have sound currency and not destroy the weights and balances of our society, to have honorable contracts and to do what is right. In other words, in those spheres of ethics that are right for all people, I believe it is a Christian's responsibility to remind the state to stand for what is right.”

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:1-4: “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.” (Emphasis added.)

The government has been established by God and is under the authority of God.

The DNC propaganda machine is always whining that Republicans don’t care about the poor. They say conservatives are greedy and selfish. That their goal is to see that the rich get richer. Let’s get down to where the water meets the wheel, shall we? There are a multitude of Christian organizations that help those in need and minister to families everywhere. Here are a small number of them:

It’s evangelicals like Franklin Graham, Dr. James Dobson, Chuck Colson, Beverly LaHaye, and Brent Bozell who have heart, compassion and concern for people. Their desire to help others comes from a deep abiding love for God. Log on to the above websites to see what Christian organizations are doing to help make a difference. Most of their accomplishments never make the news. Evangelicals only show up in print when they’re under attack!

Coming back to David Kuo, one wonders if he ever considered the impact his book would have on the upcoming election. He must have realized his appearance on 60 Minutes could hurt the family, faith and freedom movement. Because of his criticism of the Bush White House, many evangelicals are angry with President Bush. To punish him, they’ve pledged not to vote for Republicans in November. All that aside, what I’d like to know from David Kuo is how a fast from politics will save babies in the womb. He knows full well that followers of Jesus Christ should never take a fast from righteousness and moral issues. Fasting from politics is not the way to advance family values.

Clearly the secular-progressives have a plan in place to divide evangelicals and to get them to forfeit their right to vote. This is a big mistake. People of faith will never cut and run.
