Criminal Presidency - RINO GOP's Failure to Respond

With his latest affront to the Constitutional Republic of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has once again shown his utter contempt and disregard for the men and women of the U.S. military services. This obscene maneuver, only days after Memorial Day observations memorialized those who died to capture the released terrorists, will serve a useful end if it awakens the dwindling number of Obama supporters and the sleepy Republican "leadership" to the true nature of this renegade administration whose most monumental achievement appears to be its unprecedented record of incompetence. The sordid record of administrative incompetence and malfeasance is sadly matched by the feeble, virtually nonexistent, response of Republican so-called "leaders" in Congress.

Can Obama's contempt for the rule of law and constitutional restraint be any clearer than recent events have revealed?

Put aside the gun-running to Mexican drug lords, the spying of NSA on political opponents, the callous use of the IRS against political opponents, the non-recess "recess appointments", the failure to prosecute laws of Congress, the creation of Executive Orders for which there exists no authority under our Constitution or existing Federal Law, the concealment of information from legitimate inquiries from Congress, the use of EPA to bully energy suppliers. All these abuses of office pale into insignificance compared with the recent act of treason in giving aid and comfort to our enemy, in violation of Federal Law! Is there no limit to Obama's contempt for the rule of law?

The swap of five very high-value terrorists for the return of a deserter (at best) or traitor (at worst) was not only illegal, it violates the very concept of decency, and worse, gives aid and comfort to the Taliban, a sworn enemy who will continue their jihad against the United States until they either succeed or are destroyed. The five "high value" terrorists will soon be back in the field of war against the U.S. and will, inevitably, be responsible for the deaths of many U.S. citizens and/or men and women in military service. These deaths will be directly attributable to the illegal and unprecedented presidential actions of Barack Hussein Obama.

Can there be much doubt that it is very likely that Obama is quietly applying pressure on military leaders to not prosecute Bowe Bergdahl for desertion? Can there be any doubt that, should military leaders do the right thing and prosecute this deserter, that his conviction and incarceration will be brought to a premature end by Presidential pardon?

Barack Hussein Obama always seeks revenge against those who stand in his way. Note his recent petty (and, once again, illegal) action in having hundreds of illegal aliens removed from incarceration in Texas and bused to Phoenix, Arizona, where they were released. This was Obama's petty retaliation to Arizona's efforts to enforce border control laws that Barack Hussein Obama is content to ignore.

Obama's prisoner swap is treasonous in this time of war against international terrorism.

Perhaps we should examine more closely this administration's record to see if there haven't been other actions calculated to help our sworn enemy in time of war.

How about Obama's "War on Coal" and his administration's war on oil and natural gas exploration and production in the U.S.? The only place where oil and gas exploration and production are proceeding at a normal pace is in places where Obama's EPA cannot slam the door closed. Obama's continued obstinance in denying permits for the Keystone Pipeline is yet another example of his every effort to hurt the economy and vitality of the United States by shutting off access and curtailing use of readily available and relatively inexpensive sources of energy from coal, oil, and natural gas.

Many years ago, Obama signed on in support of the Cloward-Piven strategy to bring the government of the United States to a grinding halt in support of the Progressive/Marxist agenda he was tutored in for a decade prior to attending Left-leanding colleges and universities. Obama's abuse of the EPA to forward his agenda against a free-market economy to facilitate the overwhelming of government welfare (Food Stamps, unemployment, public housing, etc.) is further evidence of his desire to bring about "fundamental change" by destroying our free-market based economy and establishing a neo-Marxist regime where the rule of law is ignored in favor of establishing such change.

But is this war on carbon-based energy only about support for Cloward-Piven? Consider the following:

  • Second only to United States carbon-based energy potential reserves are those in the Middle East, virtually all of which is located in strong Muslim nations. The biggest supplier of readily available oil in the Middle East is Saudi Arabia, the major financial supporter for Muslim extremists (Islamist jihadist terrorists, Al-Qa'ida). By artificially (through over-regulation and regulatory strangulation/prohibition) slamming the door on an abundant supply of coal, oil, and natural gas in the United States, Obama's policies boost the value of Saudi oil and provide a lucrative stream of financial aid for terrorists. Is this by design or simple incompetence?

  • The recent over-bearing and illegal regulatory assault by EPA on the U.S. coal industry will lead to greater unemployment, higher energy prices, and greater U.S. dependency on foreign energy sources. This strategy is part of the agenda designed to bring the free-market economy to its knees.

  • As the economy slumps, greater and greater demands for financial aid are put on the Federal Government. Obama's string of trillion-dollar annual deficits, supposedly in response to economic needs, have succeeded in (1) devaluing the U.S. dollar and making other nations look for an alternative international monetary standard (which result would further damage U.S. economic well-being); and, (2) competing for limited capital needed to revive an economy - as government sucks up capital through greater taxation and inflation, less is available for private enterprise that is needed to create a real, sustainable, full employment economy. The opportunity slump is hitting hardest those who were responsible for electing Obama - young college students and recent graduates. Let's hope this has been as instructive an experience as it has been destructive to these young adults.

Meanwhile, as all this unfolds over the past five-and-one-half years, what has the Republican "leadership" in Congress done to stop it?

Nothing.

Oh yes, they issue wordy phrases, particularly at election time, that may deplore the situation (indicating they know full well what is going on).

But they do nothing.

Obama has, according to some legal views, committed more than a score of impeachable offenses. But none are so great as the treasonous action recently taken to secure the release of a Taliban-supporting deserter in exchange for five high-value Taliban leaders in their jihadist war against the U.S. This is clearly a well-calculated action that has been in the works for the five years during which the deserter was with the Afghans. For the United States president to celebrate this exchange reveals either a monumental incompetence or it is a clear example of Obama's priorities ("I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” from The Audacity of Hope by Barack Hussein Obama).

Yet the response of the spineless Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner, is little more than a shrug of his droopy shoulders. He appears incapable of taking any meaningful action. More important, evidently, to rally support against the Tea Party movement! Yeah, that's a bright strategy - attack the people who stand for constitutional governance, sustainable fiscal policy, and a vibrant free market economy! Why would real Republicans exhibit these characteristics? They wouldn't.

The survival of this nation depends upon it's elected leaders to adhere to their sworn oath of office.

Clearly, Barack Hussein Obama has violated his oath repeatedly.

Clearly, Speaker Boehner, House Majority Leader Cantor, and the two-faced Sen. Minority Leader McConnell are also violating their oath through benign neglect of their obligation to stop the unconstitutional rampages of the Obama administration. If they cannot defend our Constitution as they are sworn to, then they should step aside and make way for those who can and will.

Personally, I don't know which is more reprehensible. The blatant unconstitutional governance and treasonous actions of Barack Hussein Obama, or the gross incompetence of national "Republican leaders" in their feeble inability to stop him.

Our nation must change course dramatically and there is little time left. The 2014 elections are far more than political. They are a matter of national survival.

Postcript:  As I was writing this piece, I received a call from the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee) seeking a contribution. Normally, we just let those calls ring (thanks to caller ID), but this time I decided to have a little chat with the caller. I told him that when the Republican Party comes back to me, I will come back to the Republican Party. But so long as the Republican hierarchy is populated with the likes of Boehner, Cantor, and McConnell, I cannot in good faith contribute one penny to any national Republican organization for fear it will be diverted to the wrong campaign (e.g., supporting Thad Cochran in Mississippi rather than Chris McDaniel). Apparently, the NRCC caller has heard this before - and frequently, based on his responses (which were polite and understanding). Our support will be given directly to candidates who have indicated they understand our nation's severe problems and are willing to work diligently within our Constitution to eradicate the vermin in Washington who are responsible for this mess.

Biography - Bob Webster

Author of "Looking Out the Window", an evidence-based examination of the "climate change" issue, Bob Webster, is a 12th-generation descendent of both the Darte family (Connecticut, 1630s) and the Webster family (Massachusetts, 1630s). He is a descendant of Daniel Webster's father, Revolutionary War patriot Ebenezer Webster, who served with General Washington. Bob has always had a strong interest in early American history, our Constitution, U.S. politics, and law. Politically he is a constitutional republican with objectivist and libertarian roots. He has faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and reason over deception and emotion. He is a strong believer in our Constitution as written and views the abandonment of constitutional restraint by the regressive Progressive movement as a great danger to our Republic. His favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and believes it should be required reading for all high school students so they can appreciate the cost of tolerating the growth of unconstitutional crushingly powerful central government. He strongly believes, as our Constitution enshrines, that the interests of the individual should be held superior to the interests of the state.

A lifelong interest in meteorology and climatology spurred his strong interest in science. Bob earned his degree in Mathematics at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1964.
