WEBCommentary(tm) - No such thing as Windfall Profits, inflation or paper "money".

Our "dollar" is an IOU for a debt the government owes to the banks(Fed Reserve). It is not Money in the traditional sense of a store of value. It is a debt the government authorized for you to 'tender' meaning exchange for a debt you owe (for example on a purchase).
Prices go up when the debt amount reflected in the "dollar" IOU is reduced. Prices EQUALIZE to reflect the reduction. This is directly tied to excess borrowing to pay for excess spending by Congress (Democrats)over and above the revenue the government takes (Steals) in from regular taxes. This is the deficit. Not to be confused as Biden does with the Debt. Increasing the debt the government borrows DECREASES the deficit. NOT GOOD. Unless the deficit is reduced by less spending this is not a legitimate thing for the DEM Dumbs to crow about. They fool you at every turn.

Windfall profits don't exist. They only seem to exist because inflation (equalization of prices to the reduction of the Dollar note internal debt amount) is not factored in. For example congress spends 5 trillion dollars they don't have. Let's say the total dollars in circulation is also 5 trillion. To pay for the 5 trillion the government "borrows" 5 trillion dollar notes they print up (or electronic). Once released into circulation there are twice as many IOU's for the same amount of goods and services. Each IOU is now reduced in value by 50%. Something that cost one dollar now costs two dollars for the same goods or service. The price went up but other than that nothing changes except you lose half the value of your wealth.

Oil companies do not make windfall profits. Their profits seem to double but the IOU dollars are worth half what they were before the government spent the new IOU's. Remember that the government spent the 5 trillion at the old value of the IOU's before prices equalize.
