WHY NOT ME? – KEEPING IT REAL WITH THE WALTERS’

Keeping your personal life real encompasses the same values and ideals that the republic desperately needs in this time of crisis. We not only have guardianship over our immediate family, but we were supposed to have protective and active guardianship over the republic. If we citizens of the United States of America are not the republic’s guardians, who are? The state of the republic is deteriorating with each passing week. It is time to ask ourselves some really hard questions. It is time for every citizen of the republic to take responsibility for the health of the republic. Instead of assuming it will take care of itself, you need to look in the mirror and finally say, “Why not me?” The first is this: Did I do, or did I not do something important each day to protect myself, my family, and the republic? Instead of being a part of the problem, or being the problem, am I a part of the solution?

As I stand in my kitchen, with my granddaughter on my hip, I peek out the kitchen window to watch my husband in the yard, and a feeling of total contentment and happiness wash over me. I know and appreciate that we are the lucky ones. Not only do we have the marriage that others seem to envy; but, within our journey to where we are now, I can clearly see in my mind the substance of what is needed to heal the republic. Everyone needs to keep it real with the Walters’ instead of keeping up with the Jones’.

What do you do with your endeavor each day? Endeavor: To make an effort - and to take responsibility for that effort. It is an amazing word. It is a word worthy of naming mighty ships after. If you are keeping it real with the Walters, endeavor goes something like this: What we do each day to know that we have made our best effort in life is to maintain our relationship with God; to fulfill our responsibility to our family; to guard the republic against enemies foreign and domestic; to treat others as we pray they will treat us; and to directly or indirectly do work that produces something of value to society.

The alternative results in a corrupt society and government. Currently there are corporations and organizations such as unions that are working in symphony with our government to control each and every one of us. Their creed is greed, and they intend to take your liberty away from you to feed their greed. They disguise it in pretty words and entitlement programs to keep you lulled in false security. They have created an atmosphere in which you are belittled for all of the following: worshiping the God of our founders; for believing that feeding your children is more important than saving a small fish; for believing that you are entitled to the fruits of your labor; for believing that you know best how to dispense your charity; for believing that you know best how to raise your children; for believing that you have the right to your own property; and for believing that you have the right to live or die by your own decisions in your personal time on this planet. These people no longer represent you and me, they represent a minority of the population which believe your rights come from them. The question I am about to ask you now is a hard one to ask. I know, because we at the Walters home asked ourselves this question a few years ago and we did not like all of the answer. Are you a part of the problem?

Are you living to be happy; or do you entertain yourselves to the point of forgetting what happiness really is? Since we have found the secret to happiness, I have noticed how many children and adults constantly remark about how bored they are. An entertainment junkie is a junkie none-the-less. They have a degenerated sense of themselves in that they are constantly waiting for someone or something to show them how to be filled mentally. The next step after becoming an entertainment junkie is to become a helpless junkie . . . I do not think for myself, nor do I do for myself, therefore I am a non-entity. Non-entities are so susceptible to the addictions of this world such as drugs, sex, and over-eating.

In almost direct proportion to how much entertainment there is available to you, the quality of entertainment within our republic has degraded rapidly over the last forty years. Have you publicly enjoyed entertainment which is at the same time harmful to children? This includes television content, movie content, and excessive partying. I know there are many more than these, but these are the ones I was guilty of. Did you have the maturity at the age of thirteen to deal with the kind of input there is available to our children? I know I did not. All we had to do was to stop. The law of supply and demand is at play here. When the demand stops, so does the supply.

The next question goes beyond entertainment; it also encompasses all the stuff we own. Owning property is a wonderful side affect of working. No one should be able to tell you how to spend the fruits of your labor. However, are you discretionary spenders? Have you failed to live within your means? How much of the stress in your life is because you have not handled your finances with responsibility? Have you thought your financial choices through to logical ends; or were you always surprised when it ends badly? Have you ever been bailed out of your financial messes? When one is bailed out, they do not learn the lessons in money that none of us can escape. As an accountant, I have debated these facts until I was blue in the face: You cannot continually spend more than you have. You cannot continually sell below cost. There is no rainy-day security without sensible savings. You cannot consistently get something for nothing, because the hidden price could be your freedom and your soul. These are common-sense axioms of life. One must approach life as an equal-value trader. At the root is the premise that I will trade you my best effort for something of equal value. The day the credit cards died at the Walters home, is the day we remembered the value of our hard work.

Along these same lines . . . If you are a worker-bee, you do not deserve the same rewards as the risk-bee. It is not smart to price yourself out of a job. It is unreasonable to believe that a waitress or postal-carrier should earn the same salary as a rocket scientist. The risk bee creates jobs. Unions came about to band like-minded worker-bees together to keep all values equal between the worker-bee and the risk-bee. Many say they need higher wages because their taxes are so high. How is this the risk-bee’s problem? Did we do the work of electing like-minded, honest people to office to keep legislation such as unfair taxes out of our lives? Did you work with your friends, neighbors, and associates to change the tax burden which contributed to raising salaries to the point of losing multitudes of jobs to foreign countries? If you joined a union, did you fail to be involved in keeping the power with the people who make up the members of the union? If you belong to a union, did you do the work to keep local, state and federal government elections in the voting booth and not swayed with union dollars and propaganda? The welfare of your family and of your republic depends on the answers to these tough questions.

The health of your family depends on your ability to seek medical care when necessary. Did you work towards tort reform for insurance companies to keep your doctor and your hospital in business? Have you considered moving the legal system back to constitutional law, instead of case law? With Constitutional Law there is consistency; with case law the outcomes of any single issue become so varied, that the outcome of any case may depend on whims, ignorance, bribes and corruption.

When a business fails, it fails. Another person, or group of people, will fill the void with a better idea and plan. What kind of corruption encourages failure? What kind of lie is this for the American people to accept with barely a whimper? If you lose your money playing 21 or craps, does someone bail you out? If you lose your investment in a business, you lose. This is applicable to every person who invested money in that business. It was a gamble. If you take your life savings, and invest it in a gamble, you must accept the loss if you lose. If you want a sure thing, you should simply save your money. If this means burying it in your mattress, or in a safety deposit box at the bank, then that is what you do.

When you are involved in the world outside of your home, you are depending on news from many sources. Those sources can be a gossipy neighbor, a newspaper, a book, a television show, or the internet. Do you consider the sources of the information you receive every day of your life? Do you question the information that comes at you? Do you investigate important issues in order to come to the truth of matters?

A good example is global warming. At the Walters household we have done investigation and we choose to believe the actual data used by a professor at M.I.T. (Dr. Richard S. Lindzen) over the “computer models” used by the pro Cap and Trade people. We have used data plus our own ability to think things through to a conclusion to decide that man made global warming is the largest scam possibly to ever have been perpetrated on citizens. Do not take our word for it. You must find the truth for yourselves. You also have a responsibility to encourage others to do the same.

If you do not find the truth of matters, what do you think will become of you in the long run? How do you think so much legislation has made it through Congress without more than a relatively few actually rallying against it? How do you think there are millions of illegal aliens invading our country without much opposition? Why is it that our economy is being trashed as we all watch it happening? How has it become common for industries that used to be the pride of our American republic, to be re-located in other countries? Why are our children’s educations increasingly taking on the hue of propaganda? Why do our children rebel against us in public disrespect? All of these diverse problems are connected.

For every question above, you can probably think of three similar ones. If you answered these questions honestly, you may be among the majority of good people out there in the U.S.A. who failed this test. We have made great strides at the Walters home in changing our lives to be more responsible to our family and to our republic. What we have received in return is priceless in such high value. Let today be the day you look at the solutions and say, “Why not me?” The republic is in its eleventh hour of need. Each and every one of you is desperately needed to wake up to honestly, and honorably engage in your daily endeavor as an American family and an American citizen.
