Make It Conservative Mitt, Not Liberal John McCain
The truth is that media darling McCain is a media darling because he's LIBERAL on domestic issues!
John McCain got the endorsement of Florida Governor Charlie Christ and Senator Mel Martinez for the same reason that he should NOT be the Republican Party's presidential nominee: McCain is soft of illegal immigration. (Governor Crist favors driver's licenses for illegal immigrants, like Barack Obama, putting him to Hillary Clinton's left on illegal immigration.)

They always laugh that if they wound up being the nominees of their party, it would be the most civilized election in American history, and they're afraid they'd put the voters to sleep because they like and respect each other."

'McCain-Kennedy-Edwards- a huge boon to the trial bar in the guise of a "patients' bill of rights."
'McCain-Re-importation of Drugs-a blow to pharmaceutical research and development.
"Then there's the social record:
'McCain was one of the "Keating Five" Senators involved in the Keating Savings and Loan scandal.
'McCain is pro-choice. In 1999 McCain stated that overturning Roe v. Wade would be dangerous for women and he would not support it, even in "the long term."
'McCain stated during an interview with Chris Matthews on Hardball: "I believe gay marriage should be allowed.'"
"This is a critical election in American history; the notion of lurch toward socialism under McCain would be little different than a lurch toward socialism under Clinton. Think about it."
AND THEN THERE'S THE MATTER OF JUDGES!
First, McCain took the lead in forming the Gang of Fourteen, the presumptuous clique that denied an up-or-down vote to judicial nominees, even though the Constitution explicitly provides for Senator confirmation by a simple majority instead of a super-majority.
Now there's McCain flip-flopping on and actually insulting United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., a justice who rightly believes that judges are supported to interpret and apply the law instead of legislating from the bench and twisting the law to suit their personal views.
McCain voted to confirm Justice Alito, but subsequently said in private meetings that he would appoint someone like Chief Justice Roberts to the Supreme Court, but NOT like Justice Alito!
McCain sneered that Justice Alito "wears his conservatism on his sleeve."
That's outrageous, obviously, and proof that McCain is not a proud conservative but a political panderer and liar: Justice Alito is a great, impartial, nonpolitical judge who practices judicial restraint.
The truth is that McCain cannot be trusted on judges, because he would be likely to appoint justices acceptable to his liberal Senate friends, Ted Kennedy and Russ Feingold, and the liberal media.
John Fund, Wall Street Journal:
"...there is the issue of judicial nominations, a top priority with conservatives.... Mr. McCain bruised his standing with conservatives on the issue when in 2005 he became a key player in the so-called gang of 14, which derailed an effort to end Democratic filibusters of Bush judicial nominees. More recently, Mr. McCain has told conservatives he would be happy to appoint the likes of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court. But he indicated he might draw the line on a Samuel Alito, because 'he wore his conservatism on his sleeve.'
"Therein lies the problem that many conservatives have with John McCain. It is the nagging feeling that after all of his years of chummily bonding with liberal reporters and garnering favorable media coverage from them that the Arizona senator is embarrassed to be seen as too much of a conservative."
That kind of attitude won McCain designation as the favorite Republican presidential candidate of The New York Times, a well earned designation that shows that McCain doesn't deserve the Republican presidential nomination.
Give the Secular Extremist Left a fit: Make it Mitt!
