Danger!

Our nation faces a clear and present danger. With massive help from billionaire George Soros and the Hollywood Left, the Democrat game plan is to take over both Houses of Congress using the votes of illegal immigrants. That would make corrupt politico Harry Reid the Senate Majority Leader and it would put Nancy Pelosi, the most stridently liberal politician in the country, third in line for the Presidency.

Our nation faces a clear and present danger. The Democrat game plan is to take over both Houses of Congress with the help of the votes of illegal immigrants. That would make corrupt politico Harry Reid the Senate Majority Leader, with the power to block the appointment of conservative judges, appoint committee heads and set the agenda for the Senate. Worse, it would put Nancy Pelosi (who would become the Speaker of the House), the most stridently liberal politician in the country, third in line for the Presidency should the President and Vice-President be killed or incapacitated. Prior to 9/11 the prospect of a Speaker becoming President was remote at best. Since 9/11, it has become a distinct possibility. And the possibility of a terrible, divisive person such as Pelosi sitting in the Oval Office should frighten even Democrats into voting Republican!

The prospect of either of these two “leaders” gaining more power indeed poses a grave danger to our country. The Bible says, “For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34) Listen to what Pelosi, Reid and other Democrat “leaders” have said about our President. As you do, remember that they are not just showing disrespect for George Bush the man. They are showing their disrespect for the Office of the President, and thus for our nation. Disagreements in politics are normal. But real leaders who are interested in what is best for the country would never stoop to making statements like these:

Pelosi, who would literally be two heartbeats away from the Presidency if the Democrats control the House, has stated that our President is “mentally unstable.” CBS News correspondent Lesley Stahl reminded Pelosi of her continual promise that if she becomes Speaker, she will bring civility back to Washington. (See LINK below.) She then quoted Pelosi’s remarks that her Republican colleagues are “immoral" and "corrupt,” and that “they're running a criminal enterprise.” Stahl said, “You're one of the reasons we have to restore civility in the first place." Pelosi replied, "Well actually, when I called them those names, I was being gentle. There are much worse things I could've said about them." Does this sound like someone who could work with both parties (as Republican Speaker Denny Hastert has done) if she became Speaker of the House?

Democratic Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid called President Bush "a loser" during a civics discussion with a group of teenagers at Del Sol High School in Las Vegas, infuriating many of his Nevada constituents. (See LINK below.) Can you imagine any responsible leader saying such a thing to school children? In the past Reid has threatened to use his power to shut down the government during a budget dispute. If he becomes the Senate Majority Leader, Congress will become hopelessly gridlocked for the next two years, for he will never work with President Bush.

Other Democrat “leaders who have made disgraceful remarks about our President include former Vice-President and (thank the Lord) failed presidential candidate Al Gore, who, according to CNN, shouted to a Tennessee crowd, “Bush betrayed us!” (See LINK below.) Or how about Teddy Kennedy, who lied to police about driving the car in which he killed Mary Jo Kopechne (see LINK below), calling the President a “liar”!

It is interesting that President Bush (a more gracious man than I would be in similar circumstances) has never responded in kind to the vile and malicious statements made by the Democrats. When asked in an interview if he felt that his critics were unpatriotic because their statements lower the moral of the troops and give aid and comfort to our enemies, his reply was characteristic of this good-hearted man: “I don’t call them unpatriotic. I just call them wrong.”

And what about the dozens of comments by Democrats which encourage the terrorists and hurt our service men and women? Representative John Murtha, after a roadside bomb killed US troops, accused US Marines of killing Iraqi civilians in cold blood. According to Knight-Ridder (see LINK below) “Murtha’s comments were the first on-the-record remarks made by a US official characterizing the findings of military investigators… Murtha, the ranking Democrat of the Defense Appropriations subcommittee…said he hadn’t read the report.” In other words, Murtha considers our Marines guilty until proven innocent.

Then there is the infamous John Kerry, whose contempt for the military is even greater than Murtha’s. Make sure you go to www.ConservativeTruth.org today and view the “Visual Editorial” created by US servicemen in response to Kerry’s remarks characterizing them as stupid and uneducated. Also read there about Kerry’s 35-year record of hostility toward military personnel and lies about them.

Unfortunately, these people are representative of their Democrat colleagues. Certainly there are some Democrat politicians who support our troops. But the great majority of them consider service men and women as second-class citizens, and secretly hold them in contempt. (Some, like Kerry and Murtha, don’t bother to keep their feelings secret.)

In two days Americans are going to have to decide whether they want to be ruled by the kind of people who make these kinds of unsubstantiated, inflammatory statements, or by the Republicans who have done a great job of keeping our nation on a steady course in the face of the disasters of 9/11, rising oil prices, and unrest in the Middle East.

I know many Americans, including some Conservatives, are unhappy about the war in Iraq. Nobody likes wars, even necessary ones like this one. And many, many Conservative (including yours truly) are unhappy about the problems with our borders and with illegal immigration. I am afraid that these things may cause some good conservatives to vote with the Socialists (excuse me, Democrats), to show their anger about these issues.

But to vote against the Republicans who have done so much for the nation in the last six years, or to stay away from the polls, would be worse than foolish. It would be as if you had a great meal in a restaurant, but found that one course was poorly cooked. Would you start eating dog food because you didn’t like one part of the wonderful meal?

Republican control of both Houses has given us a vibrant economy, lower taxes, low unemployment, low mortgage rates, the highest rate of home ownership ever, and millions of new jobs. But we’re not happy about immigration. So, the prime rib and lobster were great, the rice pilaf and the dessert were delicious, but the broccoli was a little underdone. I can live with that.

If you choose to switch to a diet of dog food, here is what you will get. The War on Terror will end, because the Democrats don’t have the guts to fight it. It will be replaced with:

If you think I am being overly dramatic, spend some time between now and Tuesday searching the Internet for what the Democrats plan to do to us (NOT for us) in their own words. Don’t do this if you have a bad heart, because it will scare you to death.

One last thought: The Democrat Party is churning out negative propaganda as fast as their official media (ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN) can distribute it. They complain and complain about how the Republicans have governed, but we never hear anything positive about how they would fix the problems they perceive. The only things they have promised is that they will raise taxes, turn Iraq’s fledgling democracy over to the terrorists, leave Social Security in the mess it is in, and confirm more abortionist judges who will usurp the Legislative Branch by making laws from the bench.

Don’t let this happen. You CAN make a difference. Don’t listen to the polls. Most of them are slanted by the liberal news media to discourage you from voting. Get out and vote. Go EARLY in the day, both to make sure nothing happens to keep you from voting, and also to keep the exit polling positive on our side. Encourage others to vote. Convince the undecided of the grave DANGER our nation is in if the diabolical Democrat plan works.
