Public Interest Law Firm Sues AIG for Promoting Islam

The AIG bailout has plenty of people upset and paying attention to the machinations of the treasury under the Obama administration. We the People possibly do not know some of the worst details of the bailout.

The Thomas More Law Center has been involved with bringing suit challenging the bailout. A motion to dismiss was filed by the Obama administration‘s Department of Justice on behalf of Treasury Secretary Geithner and the Federal Reserve Board. Geithner is under increasing pressure to present a plan of action to the nation to ameliorate the bailouts’ repercussions.

In a report dated March 19, 2009, Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented:

“Although widespread public anger has rightfully focused on bonuses AIG paid to top executives using taxpayers’ money, that anger would be at an even higher pitch if the public knew that our tax dollars were being used by AIG to promote Islam and Shariah Law, which provides support for terrorist activities aimed at killing Americans and destroying America”.

Shariah law is not widely understood by most Americans, but what they know they do not like. They do not like what they perceive to be almost complete control of the women in the countries where it is practiced. Shariah law is against basic human values. The value of equality before the law is ignored. Most countries have realized that the Christian religion’s law against blasphemy argued against freedom of speech and is no longer in use.

Two American pressure groups should be greatly upset by the Shariah laws against homosexuals and those caught in adultery. Homosexuals must be executed by this law and for adultery, death by stoning is the sentence. Pictures of women accused of adultery show up on the internet now. It is perceived that these sentences are carried out mostly against women.

In its motion to dismiss the suit brought by the Thomas More Law Center, the DOJ claimed that the government does not control AIG, to which the Law Center pointed out that the government is using tax monies, through the bailout of AIG, to promote the religion of Islam, which is in violation of the Constitution.

According to the lawsuit, “The use of these taxpayer funds to approve, promote, endorse, support, and fund these Shariah-based Isamic religious activities violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution”.

Thompson also says:

“Through this taxpayer-funded bailout, our own government is providing financial support to anti-American, Islamic activities. Make no mistake, there is a cultural jihad underway against our great nation, and I fear that our government is unwittingly complicit in it”.

The lawsuit claims that, using taxpayer funds, the federal government acquired a majority interest, nearly 80%, in AIG. As part of this bailout, Congress also appropriated and expended an additional $40 billion of our monies to financially support AIG, which makes it a government owned company. Ergo, We the People have now acquired AIG, which engages in Shariah-compliant financial activities, including investments, to the dictates of Islamic law and the Islamic religion. This includes any profits or interest obtained through such financial activities, according to the Thomas More Law Center.

The law firm also alleges that an important element of Shariah-compliant financing is a form of obligatory charitable contribution called zakat, which is a religious tax for assisting those that struggle (jihad) for Allah. This religious tax is used financially to support Islamic “charities”. The Thomas More Law Center reports that some of these charities “have ties to terrorist organizations that are hostile to the United States and all other ‘infidels’, which includes Christians and Jews.”

The report continues:

“The Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, an example of an Islamic ‘charity’ that qualifies for receipt of the zakat, was recently convicted by a federal jury for providing millions of dollars to Islamic terrorist organizations. As a direct consequence of the taxpayer funds appropriated and expended to purchase and financially support AIG, the federal government is now the owner of a corporation engaged in the business of collecting religious taxes to fund interests adverse to the United States, Christians, Jews, and other ’infidels’ under Islamic law.”

So, congratulations, Americans. It seems that we now own AIG. We have generously given millions in bonuses to the principals who failed in keeping AIG’S financial house in order. (Congress seems intent on taxing those bonuses, even up to 90% or 100%. This is a win-win for the representatives. They will get those taxes for their coffers so they can now divide up more pork.)

Now we find out that AIG has been doing business with those who are hostile to the interests of the country itself. And, instead of looking out for our interests, the present administration, under President Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, have set the Department of Justice against a private law firm that tries to hold the federal government to its laws.

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, leaves no doubt as to whose side they are on:

“This lawsuit is as much about protecting constitutional principles as it is about protecting our national security and preventing another 9/11, whether overtly through direct attacks or covertly through a taxpayer funded stealth jihad.”
