Obama Supporters Can Say Anything

While the other two presidential candidates are lining up to apologize for anything and everything—that may be even remotely considered negative—said by their supporters against Sen. Barack Obama, Obama and his supporters seem to be able to get away with saying and doing just about anything they want. This includes the further demeaning of and cursing the United States of America. And these come from the pulpit of Obama’s church—Trinity United Church of Christ. And speaking of cursing, let’s take a look at Obama’s proclaimed “spiritual-mentor” for over 20 years—Pastor Jeremiah Wright.

From his church pulpit, Pastor Wright proclaims to his black-separatist congregation that blacks should never sing or pray “God Bless America” but, should think and say “God damn America.” He continued his 2003 speech with: “God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human! God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme!” Then, with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, Pastor Wright visited with terrorist Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi. Pastor Wright is openly anti-Semitic and pro-Palestinian. Wright says of the United States “We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians.” Wright also blames the USA for its being attacked on 9/11/2001 and—like Ward Churchill—says the US “deserved it.”

During his Christmas sermon, Wright commented “Jesus was a poor, black man” (although He was Jewish) who was killed by whites: “The Romans were rich, the Romans were Italian — which means they were European, which means they were white — and the Romans ran everything in Jesus’ country.” Wright then compares Obama’s upbringing to that of Jesus’ and promotes him from the church’s pulpit when he says: “It just came to me with— with— with— within the past few weeks, y’all, why so many folks are hatin’ on Barack Obama. He doesn’t fit the mold. He ain’t white. He ain’t rich. And he ain’t privileged!” Hmmm…I guess Pastor Wright failed to read Obama’s biography.

Again from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ, Wright continued his racist comments while blasting Obama’s rival for the Dem presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton, when he said: “Hillary fits the mold. Europeans fit the mold. Giuliani fits the mold. Rich white men fit the mold! Hillary never had a cab whiz past her and not pick her up because her skin was the wrong color. Hillary never had to worry about being pulled over in her car as a black man driving in the wrong” and “Hillary was not a black boy raised in a single-parent home. Barack was! Barack knows what it means to be a black man livin’ in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people! Hillary can never know that!” and “Hillary ain’t never been called a n*****! Hillary has never had her people defined as non-persons! Hillary ain’t had to work twice as hard just to get accepted by the rich white folks who [unintelligible] everything, or to get a passing grade when you know you are smarter than that C student sittin’ in the White House!”

Holy smokes! This guy has taken racism and hate-speech to an entirely new subterranean level.

This Pastor Wright is the same spiritual adviser of a black-separatist church that Barack Obama praises. Of Wright’s comments, Sen. Obama said: “It sounds like he was trying to be provocative.” Provocative, senator? Your mentor’s comments go a great deal farther than merely being provocative. Instead, they are racist, race-baiting and hate-filled.

Wright’s comments are those we would expect to hear from Farrakhan—but not a supposed Christian leader. In fact, his comments do not resemble anything from Christian Holy Scripture. Bear in mind, Wright is the same pastor who presided over the marriage of Barack Obama and his wife Michelle and who also baptized his children. This is the same Jeremiah Wright that Obama sought out over 20 years ago and, until his racist and hateful comments were recently brought to light, continued to support both philosophically and financially.

This newly-emerged Barack Obama is not the one generally portrayed to the public. This Obama knew before joining that this church was both part of a separist movement and highly racist in its preached viewpoints.

Is this newly-brought-to-light Obama the real one? If we are to be known and judged by the company we keep—it appears so. And this real and previously stealth-Obama is a chilling and dangerous one.
