Bad News for the Progressive/Socialist Democrat Left
Strongest constitutionalist candidates win Iowa Straw Poll with 55% of vote

There is no sunny side to the news of the Iowa Straw Poll results this morning if you are among those who consider yourself part of the Progressive/Socialist/Democrat Left. Because the Progressive Left has been behind more than 100 years of shredding our Constitution through abject ignorance and judicial activism, the Iowa GOP Straw Vote is a clear sign patriotic Americans have had it with such constitutional abuses.

Reflecting a growing move of patriotic Americans to candidates with strong Tea Party support, Iowans who voted in Saturday's Straw Poll sent a clear message to the rest of the country that they are sick and tired of constitutional abuses by both the governing Left in Congress and the Obama Administration and they are no longer going to tolerate such insanity.

Giving two strong constitutionalists, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota a victory and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, a total of 55% of the vote (28% and 27% respectively), the mood of Iowa's GOP Straw Poll voters reflects the national disgust with Federal politicians as indicated by this recent Real Clear Politics Poll:

Job Approval Approve Disapprove Spread
Obama 43.8% 50.1% -6.3%
Congress 16.8% 77.0% -60.2%

Direction of Country Right Direction Wrong Track Spread
RCP Average 18.5% 73.8% -55.3%

GOP RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) far too often exert an undue influence over GOP candidates (e.g., McCain's 2008 candidacy). RINOs will simply ignore the results, continue to aid Democrats in their bashing of any constitutionalist candidates (e.g., Palin, Bachmann, Paul) and push their agenda of selecting the most "moderate" candidates who favor the "status quo" in Washington, paying only lip service to the needed dramatic changes called for by constitutionalists.

With more than 50% of Americans opposing Obama's Administration and a whopping 77% disapproving of Congress' actions (and inactions), it is no wonder that nearly 74% realize this country is heading down the "Wrong Track."

To anyone who steps back and looks where we are heading, it is clear just how dangerously close our nation is to coming apart at the seams. There is no question that a continuance of strong extra-constitutional centralized governing from Washington represents a death sentence for this nation.

Apparently, at least 74% have taken that step back, clearly see the future if real change is not made, and will no longer tolerate the "business as usual" approach to governance (despite the best efforts of the "usual suspects" in media who do their best to hide the truth from the people).

If today's young adults, teenagers, children, and the generations of tomorrow are to live in a free and prosperous nation, then the 100-year disastrous experiment with Leftist "Progressivism" has got to be scuttled and severe austerity measures put in place to save this Constitutional Republic.

And that brings up another point.

Fellow patriots, please do not refer to this nation as a "democracy'! It is not!

We are a "constitutional republic" and should want no part of "democracy". Yes, we do use a somewhat democratic process in selecting many of those who represent us, but we are most certainly not a democracy and we should never claim to be one.

For example, our Constitution mandates the Electoral College to select our President because we are a Republic created by the sovereign States. Until the Progressives amended our Constitution with the 17th Amendment, our States had a "check and balance" in Congress because Senators were selected by the State Legislatures.

The very reason we have two branches of Congress is so that the People would have representation through the House of Representatives (whose numbers are based on population) and the States (two per State) would have representation through the Senate. That important obstacle to unconstitutional "Progressive" governance was eliminated with passage of the 17th Amendment in 1913, courtesy of early Progressives like Theodore Roosevelt (R) and the racist Woodrow Wilson (D) who segregated our armed forces and held in disdain representatives of black communities.

The 17th Amendment must be repealed. Along with a balanced budget amendment, repeal of the 17th Amendment must be among the first steps we take on the difficult path toward restoring our free Republic!

The era (and error) of nearly 100 years of Progressive (Leftist/Socialist) domination of our federal political process is showing signs of ending with the emergence of strong patriotic constitutionalists through the Tea Party movement. This strikes terror in the hearts of the Left in this country and their only avenue to fight back is through smear tactics.

It is no wonder that the radical Progressive Left that dominates the Democrat Party and media have taken to smarmy smearing of patriots like Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and the Tea Party movement. It is the only avenue open for Progressives to respond because they have no rational arguments to support their unsustainable entitlement-driven unconstitutional state socialism.

The Iowa GOP Straw Poll results are truly encouraging to Patriotic Americans who cherish their heritage and the Constitutional Republic of the United States of America.

Bravo Michele and Ron!

Notes:

Would the Republican Party be held responsible for the deaths of Leftists if the GOP nominated a ticket composed of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann? Clearly, such an attractive strongly constitutional ticket would cause the heads of legions of Leftist professors, politicians, and people in the dominant Leftist news media to explode. Strokes and heart attacks would be epidemic in Leftist circles. The thought is intoxicating.

Biography - Bob Webster

Author of "Looking Out the Window", an evidence-based examination of the "climate change" issue, Bob Webster, is a 12th-generation descendent of both the Darte family (Connecticut, 1630s) and the Webster family (Massachusetts, 1630s). He is a descendant of Daniel Webster's father, Revolutionary War patriot Ebenezer Webster, who served with General Washington. Bob has always had a strong interest in early American history, our Constitution, U.S. politics, and law. Politically he is a constitutional republican with objectivist and libertarian roots. He has faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and reason over deception and emotion. He is a strong believer in our Constitution as written and views the abandonment of constitutional restraint by the regressive Progressive movement as a great danger to our Republic. His favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and believes it should be required reading for all high school students so they can appreciate the cost of tolerating the growth of unconstitutional crushingly powerful central government. He strongly believes, as our Constitution enshrines, that the interests of the individual should be held superior to the interests of the state.

A lifelong interest in meteorology and climatology spurred his strong interest in science. Bob earned his degree in Mathematics at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1964.
