Oppose Any "Cap & Trade" Bill

Following stunning revelations of Climategate that affirmed climate realists' claims of psuedo-science and data manipulation by a small cadre of climate scientists whose primary objective is funding, the whole basis for "Cap & Trade" measures has been shown to be riddled with fraud and deceit and bears little relation to reality.

Trains Magazine, Dec. 21, 2009:

"Weather halts Eurostar, strands passengers

"Eurostar will resume some services tomorrow after three days of canceling all high speed trains between London and the European mainland. The company shut down service completely after electrical problems stranded five of its trains in the tunnel beneath the English Channel on Saturday.

"Cold weather is the likely culprit."

AccuWeather, December 28, 2009:

"A Cold and Snowy January in Store

"Very cold weather will attack the North Central states Thursday and Friday then spread to the South and East over the weekend. This is likely to be the coldest air mass that we've seen so far this season.

"Once the cold river of air becomes established into the United States, there won't be any way for the atmosphere to get rid of it. For that reason, we believe that most of the central and eastern part of the country will have temperatures well below normal for at least the first 10 days of January."

AccuWeather, December 30, 2009:

"New Year Blizzard Threatens to Paralyze Northern New England

"Yet another blizzard is destined to blast the Northeast, just after 2010 gets underway. This time, the blizzard threatens to paralyze northern New England and the St. Lawrence Valley. The rest of the Northeast will have to endure strong winds, bitter cold and snow showers as the blizzard rages."

Do these stories sound like indications of "catastrophic global warming" at our doorstep? To listen to the rants of Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), one would think such stories would be virtually impossible today. After all, aren't Arctic and Antarctic ice sheets melting? Aren't Greenland glaciers disappearing? Aren't seasons migrating northward? Aren't polar bear threatened? Aren't our coastal areas being inundated by rapidly rising oceans? Aren't global temperatures at unprecedented highs? These are the hounded claims of radical warmists led by James E. Hansen, Michael Mann, Gavin Schmidt, Phil Jones, et al, many of whom are central figures in the climategate scandal being ignored by "the usual suspects" at the AP (formerly, Associated Press, now Associated Propaganda) and in the dominant media. Of course, none of these warmist claims happen to be true!

Michael Mann's infamous (and thoroughly discredited) "hockey stick" curve of 1998, if extrapolated along the trajectory Mann created, indicates that today's global average temperatures should be almost 1°F warmer than in 1998 (supporting James Hansen's warnings to Congress in the 1980s of "catastrophic warming"). Reality check:  the best record available for global temperatures, the satellite record, shows current global temperatures are actually 1.4°F lower than in 1998! This means that Hansen, Mann, et al, the climate "warmists" who've been spending tens of billions of taxpayer dollars on bogus "research", have been off by over 2°F in just the past decade(!) with their scare campaign of catastrophic unprecedented warming designed to stampede governments into spending ever greater funds on "human-caused" global warming (a scientifically implausible theory).

The recent implosion of the UN's climate summit in Copenhagen (ironically, during an episode of historic cold and snow) resulted in no treaty, not even an "agreement", but just an impotent statement of "accord" that will be quickly ignored as people across the globe awaken further to the abject failure of "global warming" predictions (from whatever causation) to bear any resemblance to reality.

The timely release of thousands of emails and damaging data files in the international scandal known as "climategate" have irreparably tarnished the image of the IPCC and the core of climate "warmists" who were found to operate in a "clique" consisting of a tightly-knit relative handful of "scientists" whose works were tailored not to reflect reality, but to demonstrate that humans were having a catastrophic warming impact on global climate. This clique was engaged in blocking research that exposed their gross errors and misrepresentations, tarnishing reputations of scientists who did not agree with their theories, and creating an appearance of "peer review" by selecting reviewers of their papers from within the clique. This campaign of deceit was aided by the placement of key members of this clique on editorial boards of formerly-respected journals to act as "gate keepers" preventing opposing research from being published giving a false appearance of consensus and authenticity to their deceptive campaign.

Yet reality, as reflected in ongoing climate normalcy evidenced by the weather events noted above, has a habit of disrupting the plans of charlatans who would destroy our flow of energy for their own financial and political gain (e.g., Al Gore, Barbara Boxer, James Hansen, NASA, et al, ad nauseam).

The Democrat Party has already kicked this country and it's People in their collective teeth by passing, over the strenuous objections of the People, the unconstitutional Obamacare/Demcare national socialized medicine scheme. Now, the same gang of traitors to our Constitution and their constitutionally-required "oath or affirmation, to support this constitution"[*] plan further treason against our Constitution by, once again, ignoring constitutional restraints on their powers by passing an "energy bill" that in reality is a "cap and trade" bill that will destroy personal freedoms and severely cripple our nation's energy supplies while skyrocketing cost for fuel and electricity across the country. But "cap and trade" will make Al Gore a very wealthy man worth billions. It will also put unprecedented power in the hands of regulators beholden to politicians.

Contact your Senators and House member and let them clearly know that you are not pleased with how they have become a traitor to our Constitution by overstepping their constitutional authority and that you expect them to oppose any further abuse of federal power such as any "cap and trade" energy bill whose basis resides in a bogus claim of human-caused global warming.

This is your government and nation. You have a responsibility to make your views known to your representatives in Washington. Call them, write them, email them — whatever method you find most convenient — but contact them and tell them you are unalterably opposed to any "cap and trade" scheme, particularly since it is based on corrupted science that clearly does not reflect reality.

Notes:

[*] The actual oath of office (required by Article 6 of our Constitution) taken by all Senate and House members includes an affirmation to "support and defend the Constitution" of the United States. By exercising powers beyond the very limited scope of power delegated to the House and Senate by our Constitution, Senators and House members commit high treason against their oath and our Constitution on a regular basis.

Biography - Bob Webster

Author of "Looking Out the Window", an evidence-based examination of the "climate change" issue, Bob Webster, is a 12th-generation descendent of both the Darte family (Connecticut, 1630s) and the Webster family (Massachusetts, 1630s). He is a descendant of Daniel Webster's father, Revolutionary War patriot Ebenezer Webster, who served with General Washington. Bob has always had a strong interest in early American history, our Constitution, U.S. politics, and law. Politically he is a constitutional republican with objectivist and libertarian roots. He has faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and reason over deception and emotion. He is a strong believer in our Constitution as written and views the abandonment of constitutional restraint by the regressive Progressive movement as a great danger to our Republic. His favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and believes it should be required reading for all high school students so they can appreciate the cost of tolerating the growth of unconstitutional crushingly powerful central government. He strongly believes, as our Constitution enshrines, that the interests of the individual should be held superior to the interests of the state.

A lifelong interest in meteorology and climatology spurred his strong interest in science. Bob earned his degree in Mathematics at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1964.
