America in Crisis
It's the politicians, stupid!

Every insidious movement to destroy our constitutional rights will always be couched in slogans and phrases designed to suggest motivation completely contrary to the desired end result. "Fairness" is sought to deny fairness. Gun "safety" is sought to deny the right of "We The People" to safeguard ourselves from tyrannical government.

We are in danger of being overwhelmed with irredeemable paper, mere paper, representing not gold nor silver; no sir, representing nothing but broken promises, bad faith, bankrupt corporations, cheated creditors and a ruined people. -- Daniel Webster

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. -- Thomas Jefferson

A national banking system was tried several times in our history, initially to fund the Continental Army. However, until 1913 when the present Federal Reserve system (a private banking system!) was established, previous attempts by private interests to control the US currency were terminated when it became apparent that the interests of the people were being compromised by bankers' interests.

Two somewhat comprehensive (yet varying) views of the history of a national banking system are The Federal Reserve: History of Lies, Thievery, and Deceit (recommend you read this one first), and History of the Federal Reserve (read this one second, it includes an "education" guide for teachers and it is produced by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City).

While the Federal Reserve system is a monstrous problem facing "We The People" today, there are others that will need to be addressed first in order to have any chance of monetary reform. At the root of all our problems is a poorly-educated and propagandized citizenry.

By tolerating the "age of miseducation" and biased news, we only encourage more of the same ... along with the end product of an uninformed citizenry:  politicians with no honor, who will do anything to be elected/re-elected, and who primarily serve their own self-interests. This condition leads to government serving the interests of political "Party" and "self" rather than "We The People".

How are we going to improve the terrible state of education and news reporting in this country? By hand-wringing, whining, or apathy? By spending even more money on education and turning off the radio or TV and not reading newspapers and news magazines? Or by speaking out, persuading others, and working for fundamental "change" of a positive nature? This is not a problem about which only "others" need be concerned. Which response reflects what you are going to do? Are you going to look the other way and avoid it, whine and complain about it? Or are you going to do something about it?

If you believe there is plenty of time to deal with this later, think again.

Right now there are two insidious movements actively being pursued by politicians and other "Party" activists in Washington, DC and throughout the country.

The first step of tyrants is to deny freedom of speech and access to truth about what politicians are doing. The deliberate and subtle miseducation of generations of American public school children coupled with the resulting loss of an objective pursuit of truth by "news" organizations lay the foundation for this first step. The crowning blow is to deny a voice to any opposing views. The current attempt to "reinstate" the maliciously-named "Fairness Doctrine" designed to silence voices of opposition on "talk radio" is a classic example of duplicity and taking that first step for tyranny.

Which political party is working diligently to enact the "Fairness Doctrine" to deny the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech for "We The People"?

The second step of tyrants is confiscation of guns and denial of gun ownership. Stronger "gun control" efforts are continually being pushed by politicians in Washington. No matter how much control they take incrementally, it is never enough. New, more confiscatory "regulations" are continually proposed and some measure of additional control is eventually enacted. Politicians are confiscating guns piecemeal and at a rate of which even gun-owners may not be aware when control is primarily directed at new ownership restrictions. Yet the fundamental rationale for our second amendment right to "bear arms" is rooted in the right of "We The People" to ensure that our government is not taken over by tyrants using whatever means are at their disposal (recall illegal activities of ACORN whose reward from the Obama administration is billions of dollars of public money and a role in conducting the next census!).

Which political party has done the most to deny the Second Amendment's guarantee of the right to gun ownership by "We The People"?

We must clearly understand that this insidious movement to destroy our constitutional rights will always be couched in slogans and phrases designed to suggest motivation completely contrary to the desired end result. "Fairness" is sought to deny fairness. "Safety" is sought to deny any ability of "We The People" to safeguard ourselves from tyrannical government.

Very wise men once endorsed a document proclaiming:

That, of course, is from our Declaration of Independence.

So what will it be for today's young adults, children, and future generations? The slavery of poverty under a tyrannically oppressive federal government dominating every aspect of our life? Or liberty, freedom, personal responsibility, discipline, and a work ethic and reward system based on merit and good judgement?

If you want to follow the Left down the rathole of socialism, just do nothing but sit back and watch the disintegration of this nation.

But if you cherish the principles enunciated by our Founders and inscribed in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, you'd better be prepared to defend that constitution from political abuses going back nearly 100 years. Otherwise, you'll be dragged down that rathole whether you like it or not.

Remember, so long as you don't get in their way, the Left really doesn't care whether you're inactive out of apathy or because you support their objectives. Either way, if we do nothing they will win, we will lose.

Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you. -- Pericles (430 B.C.)

Biography - Bob Webster

Author of "Looking Out the Window", an evidence-based examination of the "climate change" issue, Bob Webster, is a 12th-generation descendent of both the Darte family (Connecticut, 1630s) and the Webster family (Massachusetts, 1630s). He is a descendant of Daniel Webster's father, Revolutionary War patriot Ebenezer Webster, who served with General Washington. Bob has always had a strong interest in early American history, our Constitution, U.S. politics, and law. Politically he is a constitutional republican with objectivist and libertarian roots. He has faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and reason over deception and emotion. He is a strong believer in our Constitution as written and views the abandonment of constitutional restraint by the regressive Progressive movement as a great danger to our Republic. His favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and believes it should be required reading for all high school students so they can appreciate the cost of tolerating the growth of unconstitutional crushingly powerful central government. He strongly believes, as our Constitution enshrines, that the interests of the individual should be held superior to the interests of the state.

A lifelong interest in meteorology and climatology spurred his strong interest in science. Bob earned his degree in Mathematics at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1964.
