The ACA (Obamacare) is Fundamentally and Dangerously Flawed. There are also Problems with the Software.

With Obamacare being finally exposed for what it always was – dangerously and deadly flawed, written and promulgated by forces outside the halls of government. The software also doesn’t work – by incompetence or by design? Now finally to the slower witted or those far too important to pay attention – the Cloward and Pivens technique of overwhelming the system comes into play, coupled with Alinsky tactics of ridiculing any who question.

We now learn that over 80% of those who signed up for healthcare signed up for Medicaid – not Obamacare. The Administration leaves the impression that people are enthusiastically signing up for the personal, corporate and national bankrupting Obamacare when they are actually going for “free” Medicaid.

Hanging the lure of Medicaid plays right into the one payer takeover game. Didn’t we get an example a few weeks ago when somehow the EBT card computer system dropped out – not the ability of holders to spend – but on the limits of what they could spend? It was a massive taste of what the government can do “for the American people” if it weren’t for those nasty Republicans who want children to starve. The result was the cleaning out of big box stores. It’s amazing how fast news gets around the low information voters who don’t know who the first President was, when a quick freebie comes to light – or where the money actually comes from! I would assume they used their “free” Obamaphones to let each other know the take was on.

A sharp media outfit ought to learn how the news spreads so fast and perfect it as a news development and reporting technique. They would lead the ratings and gain huge advertising support. “Get your best unlimited EBT deals here!” One of the most prolifically spread signs among the all too willing retailers are “EBT accepted here.”

$1.25 to $4 - What few seem to understand is when needs are handled locally outside the immediate family, it costs the community about $1.25 for every dollar that reaches the one in need. If the state handles the problem, it takes $2 in taxes for every dollar that reaches the point of need. If a program like EBT is handled by the Federal government, it costs $4 in taxes and new debt for the EBT card holder or any health, education or welfare activity that comes from the Federal Government for every $1 that reaches the EBT card holder. The founding quality of these needs federally intruded is always in doubt.

Common sense would tell us to avoid centralization of health, education and welfare at all costs. Federal Government has roles in national infrastructure, an honest monetary system which we’ve been lacking since 1913; a strong well equipped and trained military and the capability to meet dire emergencies as a last resort and only until the crisis passes. Subsidiarity starts at the bottom and works up as needed. Entitlement comes from the top to placate the restless natives.
Now, if I were a totalitarian “progressive” of the type that is slithering all over the halls of government these days, this is what I see to be done:

• The only way to solve the health care problem is to let the insurance companies die or be merged into a giant one service - one coverage - one payer Federal Medicaid system.

• It’ll be easier to take care of Muslims whose insurance must be free for all their wives – otherwise it’s gambling! (pg 107 ACA on Dhimmitude).

• It eliminates the necessity to deal with troublesome states and their once Constitutional prerogatives. (We must beware of Article V in the Constitution and belittle it at every turn. Article V Project To Restore Liberty - Contents )

• Doctors will no longer run private practices or select their specialties as per their personal God-given gifts and talents. Dr. Ben Carson’s “Gifted Hands” come to mind? A man raised in a poor neighborhood should only be allowed to run a local clinic and wipe runny noses – or perform abortions.

• It also meets the Administration goal of drastic world population reduction by eliminating any who don’t fit the template. Saves money and a lot of trouble dealing with a drooling, stumbling grandma or that retarded kid down the street.

• If we’re going to finally succeed in a one world government – be it a fascist corporate state or a supreme caliphate, this population control technique is necessary to maintain a two class society that eliminates the middle class.

Financial backing is by some of the strangest people in the world. George Soros, not the patriotic Koch Brothers, is now an enthusiastic member of Hillary’s Presidential Campaign Committee. His Open Society Institute has its fingers in every draconian bill, every monetary manipulation and countless sponsorship of religious and patriotic sounding blogs and institutes. These are all designed to remove any influence of the US Founding documents and their checks and balances, the solemn oaths of its officers - elected or appointed and especially of Judeo-Christian influence – especially the Catholic Church.

There are three areas the Federal Government has no competence or valuable purpose to be involved in: Health, Education and Welfare! Recently we have watched what appeared to be a debacle when Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee stood strong to defund Obamacare. Even Charles Krauthammer a staunch and brilliant conservative voice angrily demeaned Senator Cruz for his insistence on pushing for a hopeless and embarrassing rebellion. “Progressives” remind us this is now “The law of the land!”The frequent calls I get from the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee for my feeble donation is answered by, “When you publicly apologize to Senator Cruz, I’ll be back on the donor’s list!” Better to donate to Cruz and Lee’s mentor Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservative Fund.

Have we ever publicly known that our highly paid representatives very seldom read the bills they vote on and pass? Do they rely heavily on paid staff and advisors (often lobbyists who understand the issue at hand) to draft bills according to the needs of their constituents with little oversight? Do they allow or encourage outside groups to present bills that are ready made to be shuttled through the steps toward passage without reading or debate?

It appears many of the 1,000 page plus bills from Dodd-Frank to ACA to Immigration are so drafted. No bill should exceed 100 pages. No bureaucracy should be granted license to interpret the activation and enforcement with an emphasis on their own job security at the cost of harassment, fines and lawsuits instead of exhortation to competition and stewardship.

Since the Church has been in the midst of the development of health care since before the “Dark” Ages, maybe a few thoughts might help broaden the scope of the discussion. Fruitful dialogue between faith and reason cannot but render the work of charity more effective within society, and it constitutes the most appropriate framework for promoting fraternal collaboration between believers and non-believers in their shared commitment to working for the health of the human family.

The principle of subsidiarity is particularly well-suited to managing health care and directing it towards authentic human development and prosperity. In order not to produce a dangerous universal power of a tyrannical nature, the governance of health care must be marked by subsidiarity, articulated into several layers and involving different levels that can work together.
The principle of subsidiarity must remain closely linked to the principle of solidarity and vice versa, since the former without the latter gives way to social privatism (ELB) , while the latter without the former gives way to paternalist social assistance that is demeaning to those in need (LEB). This general rule must also be taken broadly into consideration when addressing issues concerning any kind of aid. Such aid, whatever the promoter’s intentions, can sometimes lock people into a state of dependence and even foster situations of localized oppression and exploitation.

Health care certainly requires authority, insofar as it poses the problem of a common good that needs to be pursued. This authority, however, must be organized in a subsidiary and stratified way if it is not to infringe upon freedom and if it is to yield effective results in practice. This has to include religious institutions that have pioneered quality health care for all for centuries while respecting their moral codes; for community organizations dedicated to specific needs; and to the charity of people who are “poor in spirit”, recognize the needs and are willing to sacrifice assets and talents to help bring about solutions.

Government controlled health care facilities should yield to university hospitals and research facilities where the best minds and proximity are there to serve the populace. Government can and should support basic research, as this also provides the ideal setting for catastrophic care when needed.

Sadly, the federal government has violated subsidiarity and destroyed solidarity in reversing the natural order. If it is to have an ongoing role, it must be in coordinating the broader citizen efforts and in picking up the tab in major medical situations.

Institutions by themselves are not enough, because integral human development is primarily a vocation, and therefore it involves a free assumption of responsibility in solidarity on the part of everyone. Moreover, such health care requires a transcendent vision of the person, it needs God: without him, health care is either denied, or entrusted exclusively to man, who falls into the trap of thinking he can bring about his own salvation, and ends up promoting a dehumanized form of health care.

This is especially true when the system becomes overcrowded as, say, Boomers start to retire. Then a dehumanized system will find excuses to deny care to the weak and less fortunate, including the handicapped and the aged. Since 1973, when GE got $235 million for shutting down its Fontana, CA small appliance plant and shipping it to Taiwan, costing 1,500 workers their jobs. I call that “The Fontana Effect.” The pace has only accelerated since then, including another wealth and opportunity draining act of insisting on buying most of our energy needs from sworn enemies in the name of environmental purity. Both have driven up our debt to the current condition where we even have to discuss health care in this manner.

I believe the American people are wising up and standing up.
