I don’t know what I’d do, if I were the father of one of the 20 murdered little children, or a family member of any of the six murdered staffers at Sandy Hook Elementary School, or of Mrs. Nancy Lanza. There’s not even the consolation of killing the shooter, because he committed suicide. At least no taxpayers will have to pay millions of dollars for his room and board.

But as Rahm Emanuel says, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” And so, the gun-grabbers, starting with the media, the dictator calling himself “Barack Obama,” and New York King Michael Bloomberg, have begun seeking to use those dead children for political gain.

Remember Columbine? No, not the bloody mass murder, but the way the MSM completely misrepresented it, turning killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold into neo-Nazis? Most people never learned the truth, which is that Harris and Klebold were politically correct with a passion. If not for the late, great Sam Francis, I’d never have learned the truth, either.

Initially, the media reported that Adam Lanza did all of his damage with the 9 mm Sig Sauer and 10 mm Glock semi-automatic pistols that were found by his body, while a semi-automatic, Bushmaster .223 M4 rifle “was found nearby in a car.”

Their new official story is that Lanza did all the damage with the Bushmaster, which after December 14 got out of the car, and deposited itself near Lanza’s corpse.

“All the victims of the Connecticut elementary school shooting were killed up close by multiple rifle shots, a medical examiner said.

“Dr. H. Wayne Carver said at a news conference today the deaths are classified as homicides. (Although as my 12-year-old always reminds me, “There is no such thing as an assault rifle!,” the media and the Democratic Party long ago re-defined semi-automatic rifles as “assault rifles.”)

The last time so many alleged reporters descended on a story, only to spread so many false rumors and phony official stories, and so few facts, was Columbine.

At first, the media suppressed their gun-grabbing rage, and were content to quote the John Doe who calls himself “Barack Obama,” and New York’s King Michael Bloomberg’s calls for banning semi-automatic rifles. But now they are going on the offensive, openly praising calls for “gun control,” and apparently organizing Newtown parents into a gun-grabber posse.

The media also do not honestly report on the gun-grabbers’ plans. They show King Michael Bloomberg saying that he doesn’t seek to infringe on citizens’ Second Amendment right to own handguns, when in fact he has for years denied that ordinary citizens have any such right. Of course, he believes that plutocrats like himself have gun rights--to be paid for by the very citizens he seeks to disenfranchise.

Thus, not only would the totalitarians violate the Second Amendment regarding semi-automatic rifles, but they seek to ban every ordinary sort of firearm, along with those they have re-defined. Of course, that’s what they’ve been trying to do for generations, where law-abiding whites are concerned. And Republicans have been caving in even faster than usual, this time.

As I see it, there are five main sets of issues here:

And, of course, media mischief.

Policies Towards the Insane/De-Institutionalization

Thousands of known, violent lunatics roam our streets. Some are schizophrenic; others are not. Their propagandists, including some judges like Nicholas Garaufis, who themselves should be locked up, say these people are not a danger to themselves or others. I don’t give a fig if they are a danger to themselves! But they are murders waiting to happen. And they do happen.

Andrew Goldstein pushed Kendra Webdale to her death, in the path of a subway train.

Naeem Davis did likewise to Ki-Suk Han.

Lucious Smith stabbed Stephanie Ross to death.

Maurice Clemmons murdered four white police officers.

This sort of thing happens all the time, murders committed by people who were well known to the authorities, the latter having often received many complaints about their behavior, including violence and death threats, while doing little or nothing.

Up until 40-50 years ago, such individuals were kept away from the public in institutions, whether prisons or psycho wards. Then some brilliant judges got the idea to “integrate” the maniacs into society and, with a little help from activists who looked to cash in on delivering services to the dangerous, released patients, ordered them “de-institutionalized.” The leftwing “non-profit” advocates seek to squeeze ever more profits out of the insane, and so they sue without cease.

Either Larry Auster or one of his readers argued that it will likely come out that Adam Lanza was known to be deranged. He may have been some sort of autistic savant--brilliant and high-functioning, academically, but lacking in the sort of feelings most people identify as human--compassion, and even the perception of (even his own) physical pain. Then again, the media keep making things up as they go, and already seem to be disposing of the autism talking point. They are trying to come up with a proper “diagnosis” of Adam Lanza that will fit in with their other framing devices, talking points, and alliances, and which will maximize their political capital.

The man who babysat Lanza when the latter was five years old, Ryan Kraft, said that Mrs. Lanza had warned him never to turn his back on the child, even to go to the bathroom.

Lanza may only have been 20 at the time of his rampage, but he was likely known to the authorities. One media rumor asserts that he had had an altercation with four officials at the school the day before he went on his rampage. He murdered three of those officials; the fourth was not at work that day.

That Adam was known might explain why he apparently took his brother Ryan’s identification with him, to commit his atrocities. Ryan was known to be the good brother. Perhaps, too, Adam did that to humiliate Ryan, though that motive would have required some sort of understanding of human emotions. (Another rumor floated by the MSM is that Ryan and Adam were both disturbed.)

The newest rumor the media are floating is that Adam went on the rampage, because he had learned that his mother was about to have him institutionalized, and wasn’t fond of the idea.

Some people who knew Adam Lanza have said that he had always been crazy, and that they weren’t surprised that he had become a murderer. (Others had the opposite impression.) His mother, poor woman, had devoted herself full-time to his care. He rewarded her devotion by shooting her in the face, making her unrecognizable.

Ryan had reportedly not seen Adam in two years. That was surely no accident, and had Ryan still been living in his mother’s house, and had Peter Lanza and his current wife visited Adam at the time, there can be little doubt that Adam would have murdered all three of them, too.

However, we still don’t know if Adam Lanza had done enough to justify confining him, even under a sane insanity policy. If he had previously kept his murder lust reasonably under wraps, there is nothing that policy could have done about him.

The marriage of the mental health, education, and media industries has robbed most people of the will to state the simple fact that many “mentally ill” people are evil.

Gun-Free Zones

I believe that Adam Lanza chose Sandy Hook Elementary for his carnage because he knew it was a gun-free zone. No one was in any position to stop him.

(An early MSM rumor held that Mrs. Lanza taught at Sandy Hook. This rumor’s purpose was apparently to come up with a tie between the family and Sandy Hook. A newer rumor holds that the mother had earlier volunteered at Sandy Hook, and Adam was jealous of the children, whom he believed his mother cared more about than she did him. I do believe that his relationship to his mother was pivotal to this incident, but nothing will “explain” what he did. Acts of pure evil are sui generis.)

Many neighborhoods around schools have been turned into “gun-free zones” by posturing politicians, at the behest of sanctimonious, brain-dead liberals. Making a neighborhood a “gun-free zone” just announces to criminals that it is a felon’s paradise of helpless prey.

The NRA has now called for stationing an armed policeman in every school. The gun-grabbers immediately mocked the proposal as insane. The proposal is not without merit, if the officer is placed somewhere where an assassin cannot ambush him.

The gun-grabbers whom I read, did not explain why they felt the idea was insane. Do they not know that thousands of violent, black and Hispanic-dominated public schools already have armed policemen stationed in them?

Off the top of my head, I am disturbed by two aspects of the armed cop in the school proposal. First, there is the matter of the police becoming a fixture at every public school. I don’t like it. It’s unseemly and un-American. It makes me think of a police state. And it entails yet another expense. We already spend hundreds of billions of dollars per year on largely counter-productive public schools. It is unconscionable for the net taxpayers to have to pay for even one additional staffer at each school.

And yet, we must have guns in schools to protect the pupils and the staff. It is the lack of guns that has made these sites so attractive.

Gun-grabbers love to praise Sandy Hook Principal Dawn Hochsprung and teacher Victoria Soto, for dying for the sake of their children.

I praise them, too, but I find living better than dying. How much better would it have been, if Hochsprung or Soto had saved their children, all of the children, by taking out Adam Lanza? But then the two women would not have been of use by the anti-self-defense lobby.

Several days ago, a bipartisan group of gun-grabbers assembled with black supremacist Errol Louis on leftwing cable TV channel NY1 (owned by Time-Warner), to engage in a monologue on the need to violate the Second Amendment. Louis brought up the fact that 1.5 million timers per year, legal gun owners save themselves and/or others by drawing a gun on an assailant, only to dismiss it as “Nonsense!” There should be at least two guns locked but accessible in every school building in America, with staffers trained and authorized to use them, and with constant access to them. Once the public learns of dead, failed, would-be mass murderers, the Adam Lanza-style attacks will end.

But the gun-grabbers are not interested in saving children’s lives. They seek, rather, to use dead children, in order to increase the power of the state, and enslave their political enemies.

Moral Meltdown

Larry Auster argued that the elites constantly destroy moral norms and celebrate evil, and then are shocked when someone forsakes all moral norms and commits evil acts.

“For they sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind.”

Those same elites then engage in magical thinking, whereby more worthless (and often redundant) laws enacted by a state that has lost all legitimacy will somehow undo the damage they have wrought. As Mike Huckabee opined, “There already is a law on the books: ‘Thou shalt not kill.’”

What the Confiscation of Legal Guns Would Entail

The dictator calling himself “Barack Obama” and his allies seek to confiscate all guns presently owned by ordinary, law-abiding, white citizens.

But not all guns. The rich, famous, and influential will still have their guns and their gunsels. “Obama,” Bloomberg, et al., will still have their taxpayer-financed, heavily-armed bodyguards for the rest of their lives. Communist New York Times publisher Arthur “Pinch” Sulzberger Jr., who editorializes on behalf of disarming the little people, will still have the gun he carries everywhere in New York State. But you and I will lose our constitutional right to keep and bear arms. (Actually, I have already lost said right, due to New York State’s 101-year-old, unconstitutional Sullivan  Act. Like present-day “gun control,” the Sullivan Act was designed to aid and abet white criminal gangs, who ignored it, while disarming law-abiding citizens, who obeyed it.)

But criminals will always have guns. As the saying goes, “When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.”

Gun-grabbers like “Obama” know that black and brown criminals laugh at gun control laws, but then, he supports such criminals.

Which jurisdictions have the most murders committed by gun-wielding felons? The ones with the most stringent gun control laws.

My wife’s nation of birth, Trinidad, has universal gun control, yet the bad guys have all the guns they want.

And police, who in the age of diversity, are themselves increasingly morally unfit to wear the badge (see here and here), will also have guns.

That leaves the good people walking around with targets on their backs.

Note, too, the gratuitous viciousness the media have shown Adam Lanza’s surviving family members. They have gone out of their way to show the exact address where Ryan Lanza lives, name the killer’s stepmother, report on the city where his father and stepmother live, show a photograph of the father and videotape of Ryan, and identify the brother, father, and stepmother’s various workplaces. This has clearly been done with the single purpose of endangering the lives of people who have done nothing wrong. Some media outlets, such as CNN, have now dropped Nancy Lanza from the victim count, and speak of “26” victims. If the Lanzas had been gun-grabbers or members of “protected groups,” the media would never have done this.

There are issues we can rationally discuss and make policy over, and then we come to the end of reason. Robbing law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights will not make America safer, and those seeking to exploit the Newtown dead do not seek to make her safer. We must not let staged hysteria, including “Barack Obama’s” tears, bamboozle us into an irrational, unsafe, not to mention unconstitutional policy.
