Pro-Life and Pro-Death Presidents

The actions presidents take, particularly as they enter or leave office, tell us a lot about who they are. Recently President George Bush made it clear that he is unashamedly Pro-Life. And in one of his first official acts, Obama made it equally clear that he is zealously Pro-Death.

The actions presidents take, particularly as they enter or leave office, tell us a lot about who they are. Recently President George Bush made it clear that he is unashamedly Pro-Life. And in one of his first official acts, Obama made it equally clear that he is zealously Pro-Death.

Throughout the eight years he served our nation, President Bush proclaimed a "National Sanctity of Human Life Day" every year. As one of his last official acts, he proclaimed January 18, 2009 as the day to celebrate life. He said, "Our country recognizes that each person, including every person waiting to be born, has a special place and purpose in this world."

But proclaiming special days to celebrated life was far from the only way Bush protected the lives of unborn children. In every aspect of his public life, he always made it clear that he believes that abortion stops a beating heart. One of his first Executive Orders halted the practice of using US tax dollars to pay for abortions abroad.

In stark contrast, one of Obama's first official acts was to rescind Bush that policy. Interestingly, he did this very quietly, with no media allowed. The move came as no surprise, because Obama has made it clear that he would be the strongest supporter of abortion ever to occupy the Oval Office. But his action was made even more shameful by the fact that he chose to issue it on the anniversary of Roe v Wade -- the day the Pro-Death movement began. By doing so he honored the most despicable decision ever handed down by the US Supreme Court.

The rule that Obama struck down (see LINK below) was one imposed on aid to programs in foreign nations. Among other things, it banned funding to abortion groups, and it required that sex education programs promote abstinence instead of abortion. This policy was first introduced by Ronald Reagan, overturned by the amoral Bill Clinton, and reinstituted by George Bush. Now Obama, not content that America kills so many of its own future citizens, has made it possible once again for the US to export its culture of death to developing nations.

Recently I have received emails from long-time readers, as well as close personal friends whom I respect very much, asking why I am so "anti-Obama." I think the fact that he has declared himself to be the championd of the of the abortion and homosexual activist movements should be ample reason for any believer in the Word of God to oppose this man. By the stands that he takes, he declares himself to be wiser than God, Who despises these sins. I frankly cannot understand how any Christian or Jew who claims to live by the Word could support a man who openly rebels against the Lord.

Some have admonished me that I must pray for him because the Bible tells us to do so. I agree. I pray for him every day, as I did for George Bush and every president before him since I was old enough to do so. My prayers for Bush tended to be that he would listen to the guidance of the Bible and the Holy Spirit speaking to his heart, and the he would make his decisions accordingly. My constant prayer for Obama is that he will accept the Lord as his Savior, ask for forgiveness of his sins, and start to govern according to God's law, instead of by man's flawed perception of what is right and just.

I have been told that I must respect Obama. I absolutely respect the Office of the Presidency and always will, regardless of who occupies the Oval Office. But asking me to respect Obama is like asking a German of Hitler's time to respect that murderer.

The Bible says in Deuteronomy 27:25, "Cursed is anyone who accepts payment to kill the innocent." If that doesn't describe abortionists who kill innocent babies in their mother's wombs, I don't understand anything about the Word.

Most of the laws we cherish in this nation were inspired by the Word of God. The concept of shared responsibility is an important part of our law that is supported by the Word. Under this principle, the person who pays someone to assassinate another is just as guilty as the person who wielded the knife. A person who incites a riot is responsible for deaths that occur, even though he did not physically take part in the riot.

So a person who encourages or enables abortionists to engage in their vile acts is just as guilty as the so-called doctors. The Roman Catholic Church recognizes this fact. Their bishops have withheld communion from politicians who vote for legislation that promotes or enables abortion, and have threatened to excommunicate them. I wish Protestant and Jewish religious leaders had the same courage of their convictions.

So is it fair to compare Obama with Hitler? It is fair to compare anyone who supports and encourages abortion with Hitler. Hitler killed 11 million people, including 6 million Jews and 5 million of other ethnic groups he hated. Since the 1973 Roe v Wade decision, abortionists have murdered more than 50 million babies. Hitler's Holocaust was as evil as evil can be. Thank God it was stopped. But the Abortion Holocaust continues today, with an unborn child killed every 30 seconds. 10 babies were aborted while you read this article.

I don't hate the new president. I love him and pray for him. I do hate what he stands for and will do everything in my power to prevent him from destroying our beloved nation. Our culture does not value human life. There is more moral outrage over a dog abuser than over a baby murderer. Unless Obama turns to God, his presidency will further our nation's moral decline and advance its culture of death.
