With Democrats taking control of the House and possibly the Senate, let's consider who the winners and losers will be:
Biggest Winners
Muslim terrorists. They got the "cut and run" party in power that they worked so hard for.
Illegal immigrants. They now have the party that perceives illegal immigrants as an opportunity to exploit for massive votes in future elections.
George Soros. Who proved that you can buy an election with enough money and a cadre of lackeys (see moveon.org) who will dutifully repeat the lies you foster.
Michael Moore. Who proved that an ill-kempt tub of lard with a forked tongue can influence an election by producing slick propaganda films for political morons.
The "hate Bush" crowd. Who have once again demonstrated that you don't have to be right to be victorious. Most of those who claim Bush is an "idiot" are mental midgets in their own right.
Nancy Pelosi. Who now gets to run the country her way ... or so she thinks.
The many Democrat politicians who have been lying about the Iraq War for years. Who have proved that liars can win ... in the short term. Their "victory" will prove short-lived.
The Democrat Party. Who demonstrated they do not have to have any sensible plans to get elected. Just lie about the economy, the war, and anything else they can think of. Gullible voters who knee-jerk vote for Democrat candidates can be counted on to check their brains at the polling place door to do Democrats bidding.
The Republican Party. Who will benefit from the insanity that will ensue from the actions of Democrats who have been frothing at the mouth to regain control of Congress. This should greatly enhance Republican chances in 2008.
The Republican presidential candidate in 2008. With radical Left Democrats assaulting American values at every opportunity, Republican chances in 2008 increase immeasurably.
Insanity. It will become the driving force in Congress for the next two years.
Biggest Losers
The Iraqi Public. Who will be abandoned by the party of "cut and run."
Democracy in the Middle East. Dead, now that the Israel-haters and foreign policy losers control spending.
The American Public. Who will now have to endure the plague of Democrat loonies running the show in Washington, D.C.
Civility, honesty, decency, honor. Who will all suffer immensely when the Democrats take control.
Hillary Clinton. Whose chances to become President just nose-dived. After two years of the Leftists in power, the American voter will be ready to atone for this year's mistakes.
1st Amendment Right to Free Speech. Democrats will push for a "fairness" doctrine that essentially curtails free speech in favor of politically and demographically "balanced" speech. Of course, the real purpose will be to curtail opponents of the Leftist drivel that cannot find an audience of its own.
The American Taxpayer. Who will pay through the nose once Democrats begin their assault on taxes.
The American Economy. Which will suffer from the policies and programs of the party of economic morons who believe there really is a "free lunch."
Legal Immigrants. Who will find it more and more difficult to compete with the success of illegal immigrants, thanks to the "doors open" policy of Democrats who believe every illegal immigrant is going to become a Democrat voter.
The "little guy." Who will pay through the nose for the Democrat's inability to control their knack for ruining the economy.
The American Military. Who will feel the brunt of the rage of military-hating Left-wing Democrats who are now controlling Congress. Defense budget will be slashed, manpower slashed, defense capability crippled.
Sanity. Which will be severely tested during the next few years.
Just a few reflections on things to come. I'm sure there is plenty more to place in these categories ... so drop a line to add your two-cents worth to these lists.
Author of "Looking Out the Window", an evidence-based examination of the "climate change" issue, Bob Webster, is a 12th-generation descendent of both the Darte family (Connecticut, 1630s) and the Webster family (Massachusetts, 1630s). He is a descendant of Daniel Webster's father, Revolutionary War patriot Ebenezer Webster, who served with General Washington. Bob has always had a strong interest in early American history, our Constitution, U.S. politics, and law. Politically he is a constitutional republican with objectivist and libertarian roots. He has faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and reason over deception and emotion. He is a strong believer in our Constitution as written and views the abandonment of constitutional restraint by the regressive Progressive movement as a great danger to our Republic. His favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and believes it should be required reading for all high school students so they can appreciate the cost of tolerating the growth of unconstitutional crushingly powerful central government. He strongly believes, as our Constitution enshrines, that the interests of the individual should be held superior to the interests of the state.
A lifelong interest in meteorology and climatology spurred his strong interest in science. Bob earned his degree in Mathematics at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1964.
